Re: Poll: What brand stroller are you getting

  • We are buying the Uppa Baby Vista that is on SUPER sale on zulily.com tonight.  We just can't seem to pick a color.  I called Buy Buy baby to see if they would match - but they can't. They said they would lose about 100 bucks on it - and that there is no way their price would drop lower than the clearance price they currently have it.   SO... zulily it is!!! :)

  • UppaBaby Vista.  It's been amazing and we'll add the toddler seat when #2 arrives.

It's got a great storage basket, comes with the bassinet (more useful for walks with spring babies than our winter one but we used it in the house), the seat can face you or forward - which we LOVE, has the rumble seat and rider board optional attachments.  Wheels are great and it performed well in our mountain snow.

  • We have a baby trend snap and go which us small compact and convenient when baby Is in the infant ca seat We have a graco travel system it's bulky but great for the mall, fully reclines huge basket snack tray etc A baby jogger summit xl which was a splurge and we love it, great for anywhere folds so easy DS is comfy in it We have a graco ipo convenience stroller its awesome for short trips and traveling reclines but not flat We are getting a Joovy ergo caboose it's a sit and stand to accommodate both kiddies!

  • I'm thinking City Mini Double Jogger (which I'm reading isn't a jogger?).

I have a single BOB Revolution (love, but the double would be too big) and a Maclaren Volo (hate).

  • I just bought a Graco Quattro Tour set last weekend. I love it, but I'm not going to lie it is not petite mommy friendly. I feel like a child playing with toys that are too big for me. But unfortunately it would be hard to avoid such things while being 4'10"

However I love all the convenient compartments and the overall sturdiness of the whole structure.

  • Ooh good post. I'm looking for one as well.
  • We are pretty sure we're getting the Snap-N-Go for the infant seat for a while that the LO will be in that. We're debating about what to do for another stroller. We both like the BOB Revolution SE.

We are still looking and weighing options. I want something that will grow with the kid, but I don't want a travel system.

  • We have a Graco travel system and will stick with that. We won't be getting a double stroller. I love the Graco.
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
  • We are getting a Mountain Buggy Swift. We had a Bugaboo Chameleon with DS and I loved it, but we sold it last year and I don't feel like spending $900 again. We picked the Mountain Buggy because I need something that will be a workhorse for me....I don't drive so we walk everywhere, every day, in all sorts of weather. it is a little hardier than the City Mini, but also a smallish profile, very easy fold, and decently lightweight (for carrying it up and down the subway steps!). And it costs the same amount that I sold my Bugaboo for, so I break even :)

  • I want the City Select, because of the ability to add a second seat and because I like how it can be configured in all sorts of ways, including with the seat facing you. But it's sooo expensive. We might have to settle for the City Mini. I'm not even sure we'll need a double stroller.  I've heard great things about the brand, though, so we'll probably go with one of those.
  • We just bought the Graco Alano travelsystem in the meadow menagerie colors.  We got it at Target for $169.99 (originally $189.99).  Both DH and I wanted a neutral colored stroller and something with a little "fun" print to it that wouldn't be overwhelming on the stroller.  After having twins, any single stroller is light and compact compared to a double, so size was not something I was being picky about.  The Graco frame looks very sturdy and I had no issues with strolling, folding, or placing the infant carseat.  I was looking for a travelsystem because I am a little OCD when it comes to matching things.  We were surprised with the price compared to other strollers, we don't have a tight budget but I like finding good deals.  It was either this stroller or the Graco quattro tour reverse travel system in the platinum color ($300).  I would have been happy with either so, I chose the cheaper of the two and saved $130 (which is what I spent on a crib!).  I like getting good deals and my hubby loves it when I like "cheaper" things because he's kinda a frugal guy.

  • I haven't thought about this at all yet, but now you've made me curious. Is stroller handle height adjustable? My husband is pretty tall (6'3") and has trouble finding rolling suitcases and grocery carts with tall enough handles.

  • I'm thinking I want the bugaboo chameleon but I'm still open to looking into others. DH is actually really into the stroller search and so far he wants the bugaboo.

  • I'm looking at the Britax B-Ready because I like the fact that you can have the seat for a toddler and have the car seat attached at the same time... DH was just freaking out at the price. But there isn't really to much else out there that works that way.

  • Have:

Maxi Cosi Foray - Pros: Adapts to Maxi Cosi Carseat, the larger seat turns towards or away from you, good quility

Cons: Seat sometimes hard to get off, large fold

Quinny - Pros: Adapts to Maxi Cosi carseat, great turning radius, small fold, good quality

    Cons: None

    May get: UPPAbaby Vista

  • DH here is 6.3 too - he really liked the Uppababy over the city select because it didn't have a rear axle for him to jack his long a$$ legs on - and he said the handle height was better on the Uppa.  We also liked the hookup for the carseat better, and felt the carseat adapter for the jogger was not as secure...  But that was just our opinion.

  • i originally wanted the Bugaboo chameleon, but for the past couple months i've wanted the UppaBaby vista.  i will test drive it this weekend to see if i like it (and hopefully still be able to get one on zulilly). it is supposed to be good for tall people, which is important to me at 5'11 and DH at 6'3.

  • I heard so many good things about the Chico Keyfit travel system (infant carseat & stroller that it snaps into), that I figured my research was done!  We picked it because the carseat has very high safe ratings, the price is right, and it gets good reviews on all the websites I've seen.

Now I feel like I need to look into all of the ones listed above!

  • I hope tomorrow to compare the Uppababy Vista to the City Mini and City Elite.  So far I have only seen the city mini and we really liked it (and I know a bunch of people who have it and love it) but I want to check out the other two as well.  If we like the vista I am hoping I will be able to pick it up on sale.

I was just looking at the one you described...I saw it on Buy Buy Baby for $349.99 and I thought that was a great price.  If it's safe, gets good reviews, and it's that affordable, I may just have to go with that one!

  • Baby trend. Great price and it's one of the few that offers the much needed sit or stand option for my toddler. I'm excited to get it!
  • For the first 4-6 months we'll be using a double snap n go -- apparently I am also getting (my mom slipped) this snap n go too: image

After that I'm going to try really, really hard to get the Baby Jogger City Mini Double.  It's a little more expensive but I've heard just amazing things about it and have seen so many around the city with families with 2 small (2U2) children.

  • We bought the UppaBaby Vista

We bought it because of all the different options it has such as forward or rear facing and the bassinet. It's also excellent for tall people since the handle height is adjustable. I can't wait to use it! I'm obsessed!

ETA: I"m 5'11 and DH is 6"4. It works very well for both of us.

  • We have the Baby Trend Stroller.  Pros: Cheap (paid $90), works with our car seat, works for what we use it for (walks in the neighborhood and going to the mall and such).

Cons: Isn't as cool as a bunch of the ones listed above.

I am thinking about getting a double stroller when this LO arrives.  I would get the Baby Trend Double if I do.

  • We got the BOB for the boys and LOVE it, although it's a jogging stroller (I'm no jogger) it's so easy to maneuver with just one hand and can go in all terrain areas (if you want to go on grass, rocks, etc...) it's adaptable which I really like nothing worst then having a stroller you can go in the grass and playground with (although those I'm sure are made better than year ago).

I had the double one so for me the con would be that's it's big, but it still is really easy to fold, but does take up room, I'm guessing this wouldn't be an issue with the single stroller.

  • I forgot to add as well that you can purchase a car seat adapter for this stroller, other than that you can only use it when the baby is a little bigger/older.

  • We have the Uppa Baby Vista and have been using it all summer with DD. The basket is amazing, DD loves the upright seat and snack tray attachment. Love the ability to add a rumble seat and stand-on board but that it also functions amazingly as a single stroller.

We sold our single BOB revolution this summer because DD hated the hammocky recline of the seat and we were thinking about having number 2. THe new BOBs have a more structured seat though I have heard.

Now if in 2 weeks when we have our 'checking for twins' ultrasound we find out there are indeed 2 more on the way we might end up purchasing another stroller....

Oh we also have the Britax Blink umbrella stroller and it stays in the trunk of the car, great stroller, recline and descent basket.

  • We registered for a Graco travel system.  I need to look more into them to make sure that is the definite one we want.

Alert: There was a recall on BOB strollers a few weeks ago. I got an email from The Bump about it.

  • I either want the new Uppa Baby Vista or a Buggaboo. I will probably get the Uppa Baby b/c of the $ difference.  I am torn though. The old Uppa Babies are at a great price right now. Not sure the improvements are worth the extra $.

  • We have the Baby Jogger City Select (with everything we need for 2 babies...2nd seat, 1 bassinet, child snack tray...I need to get a second one), parent console and another munchkin cupholder/bag organizer and of course our chicco infant seat adapter).  We got it w/DS planning #3 close behind.  We registered for it so for some that say they cannot afford it, maybe some of your family/friends will pitch in or give gift cards to put towards it.  My aunt and cousin got us the stroller (that comes with the one seat). DH's aunt and cousin gave us money and we used that to get the bassinet and the accessories and partly the 2nd seat...we paid the difference.

We love it...it is a very well made stroller...great storage even set up as a double....such a smooth ride (like a BMW! LOL) and we love how many ways it can be set up as. THe handle adjusts for any height (we are tall)....it folds super easy, great shade/canopy.  It's awesome! (way better than the Britax that the 2nd child is basically sitting in the storage compartment, soooo low...and in my opinion you lose the storate.  The wheels are also very sturdy and much better quality than the Britax (which are plastic).  If you have a 3rd child you can get the little platform that clips on the back and the child stands on it.  There is also a cooler that you velcro to the frame which I will get.

The only con I would say is that you have to buy everything separate and some say it is heavy...I am used to it and don't think it is that heavy.  Granted it is not a lightweight stroller.

We may get a double maclaren (side by side) that is light for travel (plane) if we go to Europe next summer.  I would not want my BJ CS ruined and tossed around plus it may be easier to have somewhat of an "umbrella" type stroller for the two.

We have the chicco as well and it works well for us. I don't think I'm getting another stroller when baby #2 arrives. I'll most likely just wearing Baby#2 and let DD ride in stroller or let DD #1 walk.

  • I want the Britax B-Ready or the UppaBaby vista. Both got great reviews and I want it in red. I also love the bassinet feature - so cute!

  • I was thinking about the Britax B-Agile, because it was lightweight, easy to fold up and manage, but had good ratings and was about the right price for me.  I want to look into the Uppa Baby Vista--so many good things have been said about it, but I think it's pretty pricey.
  • I hate travel systems, and we are skipping an infant seat altogether so that's a no brainer that we aren't getting one.

We're going with the City Mini. I love how lightweight it is, how it maneuvers, how easy it is to fold and the large canopy (a must for the TX sun). The price is also really great too. We are going to get the 2011 model now that it's on sale for almost $100 off (check out Albeebaby.com if you're interested, they have free shipping too). The revised features of the 2012 model aren't worth the $100 extra to me.

  • I was pretty set on the Uppababy Vista (tested it at Buy Buy Baby) and then it popped up on a great sale at zulily so it was set right then and there.  I feel that its perfect for me (I'm tall 5'9 and I think its perfect for taller people).  Some of my friends had it (really short people) and felt that it was too bulky/heavy.  I personally don't feel that it is I think its just right.
