Bleeding from the nipple....:(

So this has never happened to me before, but all of a sudden I am bleeding from the right breast. The nipple was sore and cracked and now after nursing I saw blood on my bra and I know that she must have drank some. Will she be ok? Is there anything I can do to make this heal faster? Any advice would be great....

    I was just having the same problem, and once it was so bad that the milk I pumped was turning pink. Awful! I looked it up on kellymom, though, and they said that it's fine to keep nursing (and feeding the pumped milk). I used polysporin between feedings and it helped heal (and it's okay to nurse without wiping it off). Good luck!

    Baby will be fine....she might spit up depending on how much she drank since drinking too much blood can induce vomiting.

     When I had a nipple bleed I often just used more cream to help keep the nipple soft instead of cracked and scabbed.
