I plan to formula feed. I know the benefits of breatfeeding and whatnot, but it just isn't something I want to do and really won't fit into my work lifestyle after my 6 weeks of maturnity leave.
I have always wanted to bottle feed but my DH is giving me a hard time so I might try to BF. Of course I have a prolactimona so BF might not be possible if it grows while I am pg.

I plan to breastfeed also...it saved us a lot of money on the first time through (aside from the benefits!), but different things are right for different people, I don't think either way is wrong!

No judgements here but you could always try pumping and bottle feeding breast milk.
I'm going to try my hardest to breastfeed. Not only for the benefits of it but also the money! Formula is SOO expensive.
Me too! When the boob is unavailable, I will be pumping and bottle feeding. I guess it's because my mom breast fed me for a year. And the money savings!!
I definitely plan on breastfeeding. I had latch issues with my first, and I ended up pumping for him for 10 long months (which you can totally fit in with working full-time). My second son I went totally the other way and ended up breastfeeding until he was nearly 2 (and pumped at work until he was 1). I never really pegged myself as someone who would do that, but it was the right decision for us. I'll definitely breastfeed the babies, provided I can. It was a really special bonding moment with them for me, and I'm planning to SAH as well so should help reduce pumping time!

I plan on BFing as much as I can. It did not workout with DS and I gave up when he was 8 weeks old. He was very underweight and hadn't even gained a pound from birth to a week before his 2 month appointment. He was nursing 24/7 but I just wasn't making enough. There were a lot of things from the hospital that limited my BFing time that I wish I would have done differently because I feel like they are main reasons for the supply issues.

I breastfed my dd until she was 7-8 months old and I wanted to go longer but I had supply issues due to supplementing while on a vacation. This time, I hope to make it to the one year mark.
Married in 2008 - DD born in 2010 - EDD 6.15.2012!
Breastfeed. I had mega problems with #1 and ended up switching to formula within a few weeks. I was glad there was an option for him since the boob didn't work, but formula was SO expensive! I nursed #2 pretty successfully until she was 6 months when I started having supply issues. I was disappointed I couldn't continue, but glad to have had those 6 months. I'm hoping this time it will work out really well and I'll be able to nurse for a year.
I was unable to BF my last baby (super super low supply despite trying everything and working closely with my OB and LC) and I am undecided about what I'll do with this one.
Not sure I'll try everything this time since the chances of it working out for me are incredibly silm and I have a toddler to take care of now, too.
Same here. If my milk doesn't come in again, I won't be going through everything I did-- the pills, Rx and natural, and pumping ended up costing us more than the formula DS drank (even though he was about 2% breastfed and 98% formula fed)... not to mention my emotional state and sanity. DS did great on soy formula once we figured out he could not tolerate large amounts of lactose... I'm mostly debating about what formula we will go off the bat (regular, low lactose, lactose free milk based, or soy).
I breastfed J until I found out I was pg with #2 a couple of weeks ago.
The first few weeks of breastfeeding were awful...it took a long time for it to feel comfortable and natural. But once we figured it out, it was so easy and convienant. I'm hoping to be able to breastfeed #2 for a year as well.
I'm going to try to breastfeed. My Mom's milk never came in for either pregnancy and my Sister was unsuccessful so I know it's not guaranteed, but I'm going to try. I'm also very large-chested and have heard this also makes it more difficult.
I hope I will be able to BF and then when I go back to work in the fall pump for the LO. Who knows - sometimes it doesn't work out so it is good to have the formula option out there.
Definitely going to breastfeed. I am still doing it with my first and plan on weaning him at one year. It was a wonderful bonding experience with him and I wouldn't want to miss out on the chance again.
I also don't judge anyone who formula feeds. It's soooo much easier to do and not such a pain in the butt. But BFing is my gig and I LOVE it.
1) I agree when you have short maternity leave that pumping at work is not always easy, depending on your job.
2)I never had a desire to BF, and I myself am adopted, obviously not BF, and you can only SORT OF see my extra arm. LOL
3) I medically cannot BF although I had made my decision prior to this occurance. But it made the final decision pretty easy.
4) More power to all those who CAN and DO. I think it's just one of those to each their own kinda thing.

I plan on breastfeeding if possible and pumping at work. Luckily I have a pumping room on my floor but it's shared with the whole building and everyone seems to just be pregnant.
The line I highlighted above isn't a fair thing to say. Not everyone works in an office setting that is conductive to pumping. Some people work in factories, in restaurants, etc and can't just go to a pumping room. Some people don't have that luxury!
I plan on exclusively pumping if i have the supply. no actual breast feeding though. i'm uncommonly sensitive and not in the good get you aroused kind of way. dh thought i had something wrong when we first met. i do not mind my breast as a whole being touched but even think about touching the nipple and its a very good way to get smacked. now, that i'm pregnant i have to wear a bra at all times because a t-shirt or the sheets loosly rubbing against me hurts. i'm afraid trying to breastfeed will cause resentment and i'd rather just hate a machine.
I BFed DS for 11 months and hope to be able to BF twins at least a year but I know I may have to supplement with formula. My schedule at work is busy but they have to allow for pumping so I Just work it into my schedule.
"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasured day you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart...let me hold you while I may."
I plan on BF and formula. For some reason with both of my DS's i could not produce enough milk, so i had to supplement. If i can do only BFing i'll be happy. But, I can only assume things will be the same.
I exclusively BF DS until he was 3 mo and then I had to have surgery so I had to switch to formula. I'm hoping I can BF this one for the full year or at least until we start with solid foods.

Bf.. its hard work especially in the beginning but i cant begin to explaing what an amazing feeling and connection it is. i kinda didnt want to do it because i thought it was unnatural but i kept saying before ds was born that it is going to help build his immune system. my dh was so supportive and pushed me to see a lc after ds was born. they helped me so much and im so glad i get to bf and it is so natural after a couple of weeks. no judging if you are a formula feeder..but thought id share my story how my mind changed about bfing.
