I had a routine OB appt this morning and when I went to give a urine sample, it was bloody. I, of course, completely lost my mind. The dr came in, checked my cervix (which was completely normal with no sign of bleeding) and listened to the baby's heartbeat (which was strong & 152 bpm). He diagnosed me with hemmorhagic cystitis and wrote me a Rx for Macrobid. I go back in 1 week to see how my symptoms are. I am just surprised because I have no other signs of cystitis (bladder infection). No frequency, no burning, no pain. He said it can develop quickly and usually responds well to the antibiotic.
Anyone else experienced anything like this?
Re: hemmorhagic cystitis?
Yes! I had that happen with my first pregnancy.
I went in like normal, gave a urine sample and while it wasn't enough to even turn my urine pink, I had a UTI.
I used to get chronic UTI's (ourch!) before I had an awesome PA try something "weird" and prescribe me a month-long prespription for an antibiotic, thinking maybe the bacteria just wasn't getting knocked out in 7-10 days. That was 3 years ago and the only other UTI I've had since then was during my first pregnancy!
