Poofy Eyelid

Ugh. 

So yesterday one of my eyes was a little tender but I didn't know why.

Just looked in the mirror and got my answer.

Its swollen to twice its normal size, is warm to the touch and is a little reddish.  Sounds like an infection to me.  Joy.  And here I was looking forward to a few weeks w/o doctors appts.  Have a tentative appt set up for tomorrow am as the docs won't tell me if the antibiotics I have in-house (for UTIs they suspected during pg but that I ended up not having-macrobid and cephalaxin (sp?) if any of you happen to know) are ok to take while bf'ing w/o seeing me first.  I understand why, but am just frustrated at the timing of this as I'll likely end up lugging my parents along to the doctors office.

*sigh*

    According to kellymom, macrobid is okay. I don't see cephalaxin. Kellymom is an awesome reference site for bfing moms.

    ETA: I would still check with your doc about taking any meds while bfing.

    I had that in high school due to an infected cyst in my eyelid. Hopefully it will be easily taken care of with the antibiotics but I understand how much it hurts.

    FIgured I should update with what the verdict is.  Its a clogged gland that is a little infected.  They gave me eye drops that sting like a SOB.
