I am wondering... Why are a lot of people and cloth diapering websites saying that Tide is the best detergent to use?
On EVERY cloth diaper safe detergent chart I've seen.. Tide is listed as the WORST one to use because it has EVERYTHING in it that you are NOT supposed to use on cloth diapers?
How is it such a good detergent that "has no complaints with cloth diapers" if it has everything in it like enzymes, dyes, perfumes, brighteners, etc.??
Re: Tide Original?
Tide Original does not have enzymes, dyes or brighteners. Tide Ultra has enzymes. That is the difference between the two.
A lot of CD detergents leave residue behind (most RnG users can attest to this). And some even find it easier to find Tide Orginial instead of RnG or another CD specific detergent.
Clean is clean, no matter how you get there. So long as you LO doesn't react to the detergent.
Where do you buy it? I can't find it anywhere in Canada (I can only find Ultra Tide Original Scent), but am going to the States next month, and want to pick some up. Is it easy to find?
I buy ours at Walmart.
I believe they have rebranded Original as Ultra in both the US and Canada (there is no mention of Original anywhere on with US or Canadian sites). Some people on this board say they have found some stores that still have the Original in stock and cleared them out.
That's what I am wondering now. If everyone has the best luck with the detergent that has a zero star rating when it comes to cloth diaper safe.. Is it just a ploy to sell "special" detergents like Bumgenius and Thirsties?
It's a lot easier to find and buy tide than having to order anything special offline. I am just amazed it isn't "ruining the diapers" like it's "supposed to" with it's additives. ?Hm..
As for the "no enzymes, etc." reply.. ?I'm just going by the multiple cloth diaper safe detergent charts online and every one of them has tide listed as having enzymes, brighteners, dyes and perfumes..?
Tide has enzymes, brighteners, and perfume. No dyes.
