Sorry if this has been posted already... I looked and didn't see anything.
It's about time they are looking into this. There is obviously something off about these diapers and they won't admit it. I hope they get screwed.

Re: Pampers Investigation - about time!
My DD gets rashes from all but the cheapest diapers. Most of them use dies and inks that she reacts to. I don't think it is shocking that a new diaper would have kids break out from them or have bad reactions. Some of my DD were pretty bad, especially to the ink. Don't think it is anything to be super alarmed about. Just buy the cheap ones. I use target now and have not had a single problem with either of my sensitive kids. No dies to speak of, no fragrance.
The pampers beyond swaddlers have a smell that makes my throat clothes up.
Yes, obviously. It's a vast conspiracy to lose all their customers to Huggies.
DS hasn't had any issues w/ them. Target brand, on the other hand, gave him the worst rash ever. Took him to the pedi and had to get a prescription to clear it up. But I'm not suing Target. I changed brands, he got a rash. I went back to Pampers.
Why do you hope they get screwed? Because they're more expensive than other brands?
They are in the business of making money, not losing it. I highly doubt they wouldn't admit something was wrong and pull the product if it was in fact harmful. They don't want to lose customers.
But the bottom line is that Pampers could give some kids diaper rash, dry max or no dry max. Just like Huggies could. Or Target brand. I don't know that I would know what a chemical burn looks like. I think it's easy for a parent to get caught up in the "hype" and because it's a new product that has been marketed to he!! and back they have something tangible to blame for a diaper rash. I'm sure there is some chemical component to create the super new absorbency but I'll believe a dermatologist from UCLA over a parent who doesn't have the degree to diagnose a chemical burn.
Also, that spokesperson from Pampers said that since 2009 diapers with the new technology have been integrated into boxes without the labeling attached. I'd like to hear what the parents crying foul would have to say about that.
There is always going to be someone who has an adverse reaction to a product. If those kids truly did get burned that;s horrible, but it's not like that's what the company set out to do.
It could also be a UTI or any number of things. I wouldn't go straight to blaming the diaper just because X number of parents are doing it.
My son has been wearing pampers since he was born and placed in the NICU. I love pampers, I don't care for the new ones as much, but it hasn't made me stop buying them. I agree with previous posters, if you don't like the new ones or they are causing a reaction, switch to another brand and keep switching until you find ones that don't cause a reaction.
My son had a horrible diaper rash two weeks ago and I could have blamed the diapers, but it was due to him having diarreah and the irritation it caused even though we changed him immediately.
Children get diaper rash unfortunatly it is part of being a baby, but it usually is nothing serious.
See this is what I take issue with. I think it's annoying to have them start switching the product without letting people know. There have been posts on this board since at least fall about people getting random boxes of the new diapers with no indication on the box. And yes, people have complained about their kids getting rashes well before the offical launch of dry max in new boxes which didn't happen until a month or 2 ago.
I randomly got a box of the new diapers with no indication at all on the box that they were new. I was annoyed for the fact that, I like them the way they were with the mesh liners. I don't want to pay that much for a diaper that is now like all the others. And I wouldn't have bought the box had I known they were different. This was back in late January/early Feb before the launch, and I had already heard numerous complaints about them causing bad rashes so I didn't want to use them because DD is sensitive.
Sure, any diaper can cause a rash. But from the complaints people have had it's more than just a regular rash, it's more of a chemical burn.
I really don't hope to see Pampers get screwed. I just wish they would have informed their customers that the boxes of diapers they are buying are different rather than sneak them in. Because DD is sensitve and we never had problems with the old Pampers I really didn't want to try something new. In the end, we switched brands anyways.
