Hair loss & breakage! Anyone??

OMG In the past 6 weeks I've been noticing A LOT of hair loss! In the shower, in my brush, when I touch my hair with my fingers it just falls out! The other day I noticed I have breakage all along my hair line!! I have 1/2 inch baby bangs and side burns! I know this is a common post pregnancy thing but WOW! Anyone else have it this bad!?!!

    Are you nursing?  Are you taking BC?  A friend of mine had hair loss and breakage similar to what you are experiencing (her hair line receded about 1/2).  After complaining to her dr. a few times they finally realized that it was related to the fact that she was breastfeeding and taking full strength BC.  I guess when you are nursing you only be on half doses of BC.  GL!

    What you think is breakagr is probably new growth,  I noticed the same thing after mine had started falling out like crazy.  Losing crazy amounts of hair lasted like 2-3 months for me.  If you are concerned you should call your Dr, something might be out of whack.

    I could've written this exact same post and our babies are around the same age...hopefully someone has some insight because I've got nothing.

    I EBF but I don't take any RXs and I eat a high protein, pretty healthy diet and take vitamins.

    I'd like to think it's new growth but I can't be sure. If it's new growth it's short enough that it should be my natural color and the color seems to match my last root touch up! Maybe I'll call my dr and see what they say!

    Designsonyou: Let's hope this doesn't go on too much longer. I've already seriously considered how I might look bald ...

    Let me know what you find out. My hair is everywhere! The shower, the kids, my husband... It's getting out of hand! ;-)

    It's been real bad for a few months!  I have a lot come out in the shower, and I can't play with my hair without any coming out.  I've heard it's normal but I am ready for it to be over!!!

    My LO is only 4 months, but I have the same problem (BFing and have an IUD).

    I'm not breastfeeding, but recently I have realized that I have an excessive amount of breaking and shedding. About a month ago I used a new chemical straightener on my hair but I hadn't noticed the issue until now so I'm not sure if it's related.
