Hope all you ladies had a great weekend! I've been having bump withdrawals! I went to my hometown to have my baby shower and it was great! Almost everyone came and I got to see some of my friends that I haven't seen in months. Everyone was so generous! Shockingly, we only got a few clothes, most got us some much needed baby necessities. We have very little left to buy, which is great.

And when I got home yesterday afternoon, I had some severe nesting going on!! I did 3 loads of laundry and folded and put away 2, so I've got a little left to do when I get home. I organized the diapers and the dresser drawers. My DH set up the PnP in our living room that we got as a gift, and I think it's become much more real to him now that baby stuff is taking over the house.

I know many of us had showers this weekend or recently. How did yours go and how are you coming along with the nursery and being ready?

My shower was two weekends ago and it was great! We got so much stuff and with all the exchanges I've been able to do, we have just about everything!

I did a load of laundry too - just the sheets, blankets, etc. I'm holding out on clothes for a couple more weeks because I don't want to wash that much of it, but I want to figure out exactly what to wash. Our glider and ottoman are in and I picked them up yesterday - for some reason adding that to the room makes it feel so much more real! I also organized the dressers and have started on the changing area.

We're getting so close!

My shower was two weeks ago and it was lovely. We're having a girl so I assumed people would bring lots of beautiful girl clothes. I was wrong. We got tons of necessities and now we need to go shopping for clothes, which is okay with me.

We just moved but the nursery was the first room I wanted to finish. It's all done now and I just have some laundry to finish. Basically, we're ready when she is.

Sounds like you had a great shower!

Mine was two weeks ago. We still have a couple of things left to buy (PnP, sheets, changing pad cover, more diapers and wipes) but feel pretty much okay. Just waiting for the completion coupons to come then I'm planning on getting everything else. I'm sure there will be things that we think of after LO is here, but between family members who we can send out and online shopping, everything will get taken care of.

The nursery is just about done. DH is finishing up some shelves, then I can finish putting everything out.

Of course, I can sit here and calmly write out that everything is just about ready, but internally there is a crazy lady running around in my head freaking out that we are nowhere near ready, and that all the kitchen cabinets should be reorganized before baby comes (thank you nesting).

No showers for me this go around and no, I havent dont anything to prepare for baby #2. Our crib is still in pieces and baby #2s nursery is still DS #1s toy room. I think we are in denial that this baby is ever coming out. Oops! I guess November will be our month to prepare. Congrats on an awesome shower!

My shower is Saturday so not sure how ready we'll be after that. I also have a work shower coming up the first week of November, but I expect that one to be more clothes and fun little things than the necessities. I would be shocked if any of the teachers bought bigger items (and really, they shouldn't). We basically have the nursery set up (but no mattress yet, we'll be buying that Sunday if we dont' get it Saturday). I just need a rocker to go in the nursery and it will be completely set (minus wall decorations, but that's not important in terms of baby care).

We have a few outfits, but it's harder to shop for clothes because we're team green. I'll probably wash everything we have once our showers are done - it will probably all fit into 1 load.

I just had my shower yesterday and it was great! A lot of people went in together on the big stuff we needed which I really liked. It seems less scary to have to purchase a bunch of small stuff than to still need anything really costly. We're having a boy and also found that we didn't get much in terms of clothes which is fine with me, we have a bunch of hand me downs and I would like to buy some myself as well:)

I'm getting a list ready of things we still need to get which includes breast pump and feeding supplies, video monitor, swaddle blankets, changing pad, and diapers. Now I'll just start keeping my eyes peeled for deals and coupons and buying things up between now and December Big Smile

All I have left to do is install the car seat/get inspected, call the pediatrician with a question, buy more diapers, buy the Ergo, wash all of my diapers, boil bottles/pacis, and finish decorating the nursery.

So as far as my to-do list, I'm doing pretty well. Emotionally, I am feeling rather nervous and frazzled about the whole thing.

My shower was so nice. I didn't really get much off my registry at all but I was expecting that. I was figuring none of my "good friends" would come and they didn't so that hurt my feelings because I'm always there for them. We are still a long way from being ready I feel. We got pretty much all the big stuff which is great but all that little stuff is going to add up. At least now I know exactly what I need and can start looking for bargains on craigslist, OUAC, and consignment stores. I'm glad I can finally start a final to-do list and start getting it done by Thanksgiving.

Still waiting on my shower. I have most things I need expect a PnP and a carseat.. My DD is sharing bedroom with LO for a bit so I haven't bothered to set up a nursery. LO will be rooming in with me for the first bit.

I am getting ready too! DH and grandpa painted the nursery a couple weeks ago. Last weekend was my shower here in NC and the week before I flew home to PA for my shower there! Phew, it's been a couple of busy weekends for sure but I am definitely feeling the urge to nest more. We haven't gotten the crib yet but by beginning of November should have that in the room too.

We got a good combination of items from our registry and alot of clothes too! I am so curious to see if he's going to fit in all this newborn stuff...looks soooo tiny!

Glad you had a fun time at your shower! Mine was two weekends ago, and I was amazed by all the stuff we got! Most people bought something off the registry, and then we got a lot of clothes as well- mostly 6mos and up, which was surprising, since everyone kept telling me that all we were gonna get was newborn sized stuff.

Since the shower, I ordered a few more essentials off Amazon (for a WAY better price than BRU) and also went and bought more clothes, socks, etc in both newborn and 0-3mos sizes. Planning on only washing 1 or 2 of the newborn outfits to bring to the hospital, along with one or two 0-3mo outfits, in case he doesn't fit in the newborn stuff. Then, when we get home, I will either wash the rest of the newborn stuff, or return it if it doesn't fit.

Still need to make another trip to BRU to return some shower gifts and am planning on using out gift cards to buy a few more things- extra crib sheets, mattress pads, etc. Also planning to go to Target or Walmart to buy baby wash, diapers, etc.

Ordered an awesome La-Z-Boy rocker/recliner for the nursery, which is being delivered tomorrow, and my project for the weekend is washing all the blankets, bedding, and some of the clothes. Whew! I can't believe we're almost done!

So glad you had a good time at your shower!

Mine was Oct. 8th and I'm sort of mortified to admit that it still looks like Babies R Us barfed in my dining room. Embarrassed . I have a few things to take back that were duplicates. People were so generous and we have very little we need to buy before Violet gets here. Most people stuck to our registry which was surprising. We even got quite a few cloth diapers and the breast pump!

My mom and sister hosted and mailed out a onesie for each person to decorate and bring, and some of them were seriously amazing. I even got a personalized one from my Pediatrician (my mom works for her and she was my Dr.) with the name of the practice on it. It was really a perfect day.

Now I just need to get my act in gear and finish decorating and putting things away. Still waiting for that nesting urge. . .
