My DH and I want to start trying for #2, but I'm still BFing(3-4 times in 24 hours). (I know I CAN get pregnant, since I have my period ) Over the last 2 months I've weaned DD to this amount, if it was up to her shed still be nursed every 3 hours!!!! So I don't think cutting anymore nursing sessions is an option right now, she still asks multiple times a day, but I just keep telling her before nap, bed time..etc. And I'll go offer her food instead. Is it possible to BF and be pregnant? How hard?!
Or do you think we should put off TTC until DD is done BF? who knows when that will happen, I was hoping to let her self wean-- which they say happens around 2-3, but then my DR said some children never self wean( hoping that's not my kid

. ).
I am done BFing, but I keep doing it for my DD. I am a SAHM and my husband works alot-alot, so he can't help put her to bed or down for naps-- and those are the 2 nursing sessions I don't know how I am going to get rid of.
Being pregnant and successfully keeping a supply and BF?!

Your experiences?
Sorry so long- but I thought if anyone could help, you ladies could!

Yep, still nursing here! I was hoping he would self wean, but it doesn't look like it is going to go that way. I hope to have him weaned by Christmas. I have had no problems being pregnant and bf'ing.
I'm still BF-ing (DS never took to the bottle) and he's nursing pretty frequently. No signs of stopping!
If I'm at home, DS neeeeeeds to nurse. If I'm not here, he has no trouble going down for his naps without nursing. You might need to recruit help for a week or so to help with getting rid of the nap-nursing connection so you can disappear for a little while and break the habit.
I definitely find everything more tiring now and I'm sure BFing on top of having an almost one year old, being pregnant and working is all just wearing me out.
I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

Since you have your period, I'd say you have a chance to become pregnant. So I would TTC and just see what happens.
I became pregnant with LO2 when DD was 12 months old. I was BFing 3x per day. My supply tanked shortly after my BFP. So I dropped down to 2x per day, and now I'm down to 1x per day. I had plans on 100% weaning DD by 18 months, if she hadn't self-weaned by then. But my OB doesn't want me BFing past 14-16 weeks pregnant. So my BFing days with DD are numbered.
GL TTC!
Please keep your LOs RF as long as possible
I nursed through my pregnancy and now I'm tandem nursing. It was hard for me, but only because DD was only 6 months old when I got pregnant and I was constantly worrying that my supply would drop and I'd have to give her formula. Luckily my supply stayed decent until DD was about a year old, and then it dropped majorly. DD probably could have weaned at that point because there was no milk left, but I encouraged it because I thought it would help relieve some jealousy once the baby arrived if they could both nurse. DD2 was born when DD1 was 14 months. Tandem nursing was a million times easier than I thought it would be.
Around 8-9 weeks pregnant, my nipples were pretty sore but it only lasted a week or so. There isn't much you can do to keep your supply up, but there is an herbal supplement called More Milk Too that you can take during pregnancy. I took it, and maybe that's why I was able to keep my supply up as long as I did...or maybe it was coincidence. I don't know.
