Tell me about MOPS

So I know a few ladies who are a parts of MOPS groups, and I'm not really sure what it's all about. Is it just a weekly/monthly play group? I see there is a membership cost involved - what exactly does that cover? I guess I'm just wondering if it's something worth looking into joining - I see there is a local group right down the road from us. Any info is appreciated - thanks!!

    I go to a MOPS group in Ashburn.

    Ours is pay per half or full year, you can choose and also get a refund at the half year mark if something comes up and you cannot continue to attend.  

    Child care is provided while you are in the meeting, it's usually for about 2 hours.  Ours has 4 rooms of child care depending on the kid's age.

    Some MOPS groups are more religious than others (it's a religious group by nature).  Mine is not very religious at all.  We generally have a breakfast, a speaker, discussion and sometimes a craft.  We meet every other week.

    When you you typically meet?  During the week?  Are there any meetings ever scheduled on weekends?
