Just curious: How long for you & DH/SO/etc?

My calendar and I have been hanging out together today. I just saw my reminder of my dating anniversary with DH: it'll be 16 years next weekend! I can't believe it has been that long. Made me wonder how long others have been together.

Here are our stats:

Dating: 16 years (started dating in high school)

Married: 7 1/2 years

Children: this will be our first (my mom almost gave up on us!)

We've been together over 6 years, married for over 5 and this will be our 2nd. But we've known each other since I was in 3rd grade, so about 20 years or so? Because we already knew a lot of one another's family, we didn't have the typical getting to know you time period so we "re-met" (hadn't seen each other in 10 or so years) and started dating and were engaged, then married, within one year of "re-meeting".

So I just read through them all and my DH and I have hardly been together as long as any of you!

Dating: 1 1/2 years.... we got engaged at 7 months of dating though and had a year before our wedding.

Married: Almost 1 1/2 years

Children: This will be our first

It didn't take long before DH and I knew that we were going to get married. I literally knew on our first date that I was going to marry him, so we sped up the process a bit and picked out rings at 5 months, then I just had to wait for him to propose!

We have been married for 2.5 years although we had a 14 month engagement (I really wanted a spring wedding so had to wait a bit).

This is our first baby (started TTC at 6 months post wedding and never expected it to take this long to get baby #1)!

This was so fun reading through all the different relationship stats! So glad so many responded. I love some of the "we just knew" ones. I worked with an older gentleman who met and married his wife within 3 weeks. They were the most wonderful couple and were together around 50 years when he passed. Sometimes, it's true - you just know you found the right person. I think my DH and I were the same way, but people think you are a little nuts when you think that in high school. = )
