I'm taking Nate to a Halloween party this weekend, and I'm supposed to bring a large platter of chicken nuggets. The party is on Sunday, so if I do CFA, I'll have to get them on Saturday. I don't know how much a platter costs at CFA, but I really don't want to spend a lot of money on chicken nuggets. :P
If you've done nuggets for a party where did you get them? Is it tacky to get Tyson nuggets or nuggets from Trader Joe's instead of getting them from a restaurant?
Re: Chicken nuggets for a kid & adult party?
I don't think it's tacky to buy & cook your own nuggets. It's a lot more cost effective! And is most likely a healthier alternative.
Another fast food alternative is Zaxby's (I'm partial), Bojangles or even (gasp!) McDonalds (not a fan myself).
LLG-Where in Costco are the Mickey ones, I have never seen them. We do the Tyson ones from Costco and they never really crisp up.
CFA nugget trays are pricey (IMO). I think it would be acceptable to bring your own, but keeping them hot and not having the breading get mushy may be hard. Since all Jocelyn eats is nuggets we've had our fair share and the Tyson Dinosaur ones are the crispiest and stay crisp even when cooled, Wal-Mart has them at the cheapest price.
If I remember correctly from the last time I ordered a CFA tray its like $40 for 100? But CFAs are closed on Sundays for religious reasons so I doubt you can pick up a nugget tray on a Sunday, but I could be wrong.
Dbert - they are in the frozen section. It's an orange bag and its like 5lbs of nuggets!
Your detailed review cracked me up! LOL Thanks!
The other planners and I were talking about how on earth we're going to keep the food hot, and that's still a question of mine. I'm just going to bring the nuggets and hope for the best.

Glad I made you laugh! I think I can honestly say we've tried every brand of nugget from every store, my child is on the all nugget all the time diet. The Tyson 100% natural dinosaur ones are for sure the best. Just don't put them on foil or cover them while hot in foil. I've found laying them on a paper towel absorbs some oil but keeps the breading crisp. Jocelyn will not eat a soggy nugget! Good luck!
