I have my appt with my new RE on Nov 22. I'm unexplained, but have heavy spotting from about 3dpo until I start my period, which lasts about 2 days. Everything else I've done has come back completely normal, except my endo biopsy, which showed that my lining was out of phase (which I figured would be the case since I only have a 10 day LP, and I spot most of that).
We probably have enough with our insurance to do 2 cycles of IVF. I don't know if I should push to do a lap first, or just do a cycle of IVF and make a decision about a lap if we get a BFN. Or if there is anything else I should ask about doing prior to doing another IVF cycle. I've been really excited about the prospect of starting again, but now I'm starting to freak out that it's pointless to do IVF when we don't know what's wrong and we haven't fixed anything. My old RE kept saying that the spotting issue will be solved by progesterone supplements, but that obviously didn't work for IVF #1.
So....lap prior to IVF or do a cycle and see what happens? Anyone do a lap as a diagnostic test/because of a lack of any other diagnosis? Did you find anything?

Thankful for every day
My periods sounded a lot like yours. I would spot for two day before and they would only last a day or two but the cramps were really bad. I had my lap in August and they removed stage II endo and the Dr. found a uterine septum that needed to be removed. Since having the lap my periods have been normal. We haven't made it to IVF yet, but I wanted a lap before we made the move from IUI.
Forever our's October 17th 2012
I chose to have the lap before we did any treatment because we are oop for treatments. My insurance will pay for diagnostic testing. I wanted to make sure nothing was wrong before we put any money into treatments.
I have had heavy periods, some cramping, pelvic pain through out my cycle and painful sex. That isn't "textbook" endo because I didn't have horrible cramping with my period but my RE thought a lap was a good idea. They found stage 2 endo. I'm glad I did the lap before any treatments.
