How often do you take pro pics of your dc?

and how much do you spend each time?

Do you do studio pics or professional photographer pics?

I had them done every 3 months when my dd was young. Now I only do them for Christmas and birthday, which happen to be around the same time.  So,  I take pro pics about once a year.

 This year I am taking my dd to a studio for her christmas pics and to a photographer who takes pics at a park for her birthday.  I will probably end up spending around $200 for both sessions.

    1st year - every 3 months

    After 1 year - 2x a year. JC Penney portrait studio. Less than $40 each time.

    For the first 18 months I took him every three months. I got the $8 package at JCPenney.

    I will probably stick to every 3 months, but I also do the free 8x10 at Picture People and get maybe one other sheet.

    I would never spend more than $50 or so on a session.

    I only do Birthday photos between their  b-days (DS is beginning of Feb. and DD is end of March so we do Like March 1st)

    I usually spend ~$100 for BOTH... All of the other framed pictures that I have are candids that I take myself.

    I've only had DS's done twice.  Bad Mommy! (In my defense, I have taken a lot more pictures of him...not pro but some arn't bad)

    I think I'm pretty good at taking photos of DS so I've only gotten professionals done once and they were free since it was a friend and she was building her portfolio.  We're getting them done next weekend by the same friend but this time she's charging us $75 since she is super busy now and it costs her giving up a potential session to do it for us.  I had to book her a month ago just to get this session!  But she's going to edit all the pics and give them to us on a disk for free.  She takes awesome pics!

    DD's first year I took her every 2-4 weeks.  I am taking DS every 4 weeks for the first year.  Now DD goes every 2 months since she is not changing as much.  DD and DS have a huge "portfolio" of pictures.  I take them to a studio.  Usually JcPenneys but sometimes Picture People or Olan Mills.  I spend anywhere from $20-$250.  The average is probably $60 a month.
