I feel like I've gotten so that I don't care as much about what I put in the dishwasher. Most of the kids stuff I have to wash by hand (not dishwasher safe, or things like the bowls flip around too much), so I get sick of handwashing stuff.
So what are your do's and don'ts for the dishwasher?
I never put pots or pans in the dishwasher - especially the non-stick ones (we have the ceramic coated, not teflon, but I don't want to ruin them).
I used to never put our good knives in the dishwasher, but sometimes I do... probably not a good thing.
I find myself putting a lot more in the dishwasher now than I did in the past (pre-child) - the plate that comes in the microwave, plastic cutting boards, cat's bowls, mixing/serving utensils.
Ironically I never put in any of the baby's bottles or bottle parts.
Re: Dishwasher do's/dont's
No sharp knives (R likes to help empty), no wood cutting boards, no pots/pans, no cookie sheets. Everything else is fair game (toys, tray under ice/water thing on fridge, microwave plate, coffee pot, animal dishes, vases, booster trays, etc)!
I hate the way dh loads it though....so sloppy and covers things and they don't get clean. He empties after I load enough to know how to load it!
I handwash - Bottles, sippies and pots and pans.. Thats it. Oh and I have a meat tenderizer thingy that says not to put it in the dishwasher and I had two ice cream scoops that said not to, but they got put in the dishwasher by DH so they got wrecked. I do put knives in there.. shouldn't I?
The bottles and sippies I probably could put in the dishwasher but I dont' run the dishwasher everyday and I think we'd run out. plus I think sometimes the plastic gets yellowy.

Pots and Pans I find are not that time consuming to just do by hand real quick bc otherwise they take up too much room in the dishwasher. Everything else goes in the dishwasher. Sometimes I washed her bottles and my pump parts by hand and sometimes I put them in the dishwasher - just depended on when the dishwasher was going to be run.
I figure if it won't live thru the dishwasher, then it isn't meant to live in our house anyway. Same goes with clothes - I don't hand wash or dryclean anything. Some stuff makes it and some stuff doesn't.
