Anyone considering breast augmentation?

DD is 3 mos old, and I'm not sure if we're going to have any more or not. I stopped BF after 4 weeks because we had multiple issues. I would like to BF with baby #2 IF we decide to have another one. BUT if we decide not to have another one, I have thought about breast augmentation. I have always had small breasts, but the biggest issue is that one is SO much smaller than the other. I know, I know, most women have one bigger than the other. But, mine is very noticeable. All of my closest girlfriends can def tell a difference when they see them. I mean, one fills up an A cup bra very well and the other fills it up MAYBE halfway. Anyone else considering this? I've always been a little scared to do it, but my nurse midwife told me that I could get saline and that the risks now are minimal...

Re: Anyone considering breast augmentation?

  • I had one 4 years ago and DEFINITELY plan on doing it again once I am done having babies!  I originally had to have Aug/Lift reconstructive surgery for similar issues to what you are describing, but my breasts were....deflated...picture this...If I bent over at the waist I could put my hands on my breasts up against my body and the actual breast tissue was well below my hand...does that make any sense?  It was DISGUSTING...  So yes, I will totally do it again, I had a great experience and no problems whatsoever

  • I am just starting my research, so - can you BF when you have them? Did you get saline? I am still a little scared, but I have lived my whole life with this problem and it is embarassing and so hard to find things to fit me.

  • I was able to breastfeed but was not able to produce enough milk so we ff now.  I did get Saline.  I was scared too, but really it was not nearly as bad as I had thought.  I had surgery Thursday and was back at work Monday.  My best advice is to look into many doctors, get recommendations if you can if not just visit at least 3 (as long as they dont charge you) and go with who you feel the most comfortable with.  If you have any questions at all I will answer what I can : )
  • I had a breast augmentation with saline implants almost 5 years ago, and I haven't had any problems BF'ing whatsoever. If anything, I have an oversupply. My implants were placed via inframammary incision (under the breast) and were placed under the muscle. I think it is more common to have trouble BF'ing if you have the incision done around your nipple or if the implants are not placed under the muscle.

I had an awesome recovery. I was definitely in pain the first few days, but as long as I stayed on top of the pain medicine (mostly just Motrin after the first day or 2), I was fine. I was barely a 34 A beforehand, got 300 cc and went up to a small 34 C. They looked great IMO, but honestly I think silicone would have felt more "real". Since I was so small beforehand, I was all "implant" and I they were sort of hard, not squishy like silicone or real breast tissue would be. My husband didn't care though, so it wasn't that big of a deal to me. Like you, I just wanted to fit into cute clothes! Honestly, having the surgery was one of the best things I've ever done for myself and I don't regret it for one second.

Since having the baby and BF'ing, I am now a 34DD and I feel like my boobs are a little saggy! My boobs never bounced before, and now I have to wear 2 sports bras when I work out. I'm telling you this because I would make sure you either don't want any more kids or won't mind having another surgery down the road if you do - I think I will probably need a lift at some point!

GL with whatever you decide to do!

  • I can't wait to get my jugs lifted, but I can't imagine doing it more than once.  So, I will be waiting until we are done having kids.

    Le sigh.

  • Star I am sooo out of the lingo...PPH???  I swear I need a guide to the way everyone talks on here!!!  I just figured out a couple days ago what the heck DH meant!  I kept being like, who the heck is this DH person everyone knows??? LOL

Mine are submuscular as well and I too agree I love my boobies!!  I will say that next time I have them done I will be going a little smaller thoughEmbarrassed I can't remember what CCs I had put in but before my boobs "deflated" (if it were not completely inappropriate to post the pics on here I would so you guys could have a good laugh because now that I can look back at them it was seriously comical...) I was a 34D so that was what I had put in and when I was in my 20's I looked H-O-T as a soccer mom I might look more like a porn star...
