We did with my first son. The measurement was around 6 or 6.2 if I can remember correctly, and they refused to re-measure it because I was 21 weeks at the time. I had an echo to look at the heart about 4 weeks later, and it all looked fine. I spent the rest of my weeks in a panic praying something wasn't wrong (we were terrified of doing amnio, and my OB insisted she truly believed baby was fine). He was born absolutely perfect at 39 weeks.
Hi there. Do you mean nuchal fold or nuchal translucency? The fold is normally measured at the anatomy scan, the translucency during the NT scan. At my NT the baby's NT measurement was 2.4 and they wanted to see it at 2.3 or under. Our blood work came back good though and when they included the NT we ended up at 1:2700 for T21 and 1:10,000+ for T13 or 18. We don't know anything for certain yet, but I wouldn't get upset until getting the entire picture. Can I ask what your measurement was?
At the NT scan, mine was higher-end-of-normal at 2.5mm, but my blood work came back fine. I was however referred for a fetal echo because 2.5mm is the cut off at my perinatal center. Apparently there is a slightly elevated risk of congenital heart defects after that point.
I had my big ultrasound last Monday at 19 weeks and the measurement was normal and the heart looked great, but they still want to do the echo. (Though the doctor told me that I most likely had nothing to worry about.) I go in for that at the beginning of next month.
