After cutting out dairy, how long...?

Before you know if its helping? One of my DD's has had greenish poop for a few days. I thought I'd try cutting out dairy to see if that's the problem. How long before her poops will be orange-y again if it is the problem? TIA!

  • You might start to see an improvement in 3-5 days, but it takes 2-3 weeks to get all of the dairy out of your system.

  • I think DS's poop was back in the yellow-orange spectrum in about four days, but it can take a little while.

  • If green poop is the only symptom, it's most likely a reflection of a food you ate, more than dairy, and really isn't a problem. If the baby however, is fussy, gassy, if there's blood or mucous in the stool... that's when you start to see dairy issues.

This exactly. Green can be too more foremilk as well. If theres NOT other symptoms of dairy issues, assume otherwise.
