Share your fun Halloween stuff!

Thought this might be fun....

Share anything fun that you do with LO's that are Halloween themed....crafts, snacks they can help make, etc.  I'm trying to think of things to do with DD, but am not very artsy. I thought it might be fun if we all shared some fun holiday themed ideas!

Last year and yesterday I had her make spiders by tracing her hands. You trace just the 4 fingers then flip the paper 180 degrees and trace them again-creating 8 fingers in somewhat of a circle that becomes a spider. Draw on some eyes and color it in black! She got a kick out of it!

  • We gave him pumpkins (paper in shape of) to color on, but he was only interested in that short term.  He is so boy...he just wants to carry his pumpkin everywhere :).  Last night I made Oreo spiders after dinner and he thought that they were so cool.  We have been doing mostly outdoor pumpkin/farm/fall festival type stuff.

  • Find a small box with a top to fit a peice of black construction paper. Then use white paint to paint 2-3 large marbles. Put the marbles in the box, put the lid on and shake the box side to side. This makes the spider web. Then I put a print of her thumb for the spider. Used sting for the legs, sprinkled on some glitter. Awesome spiderweb that she had fun making.

  • Well, Eva has been having a blast pretending to trick or treat all.day.long.  She wears a witch hat, carries around a giant Halloween bag and goes to every doorway in our house asking for candy.

Here are some things we did last year:

  • We bought some pie pumkins and let the kids paint them, always a favorite.  B loves to glue things, so she has been making lots and lots of construction paper pumkins with lots of triangle eyes, noses and mouths.  We also visit pumpkin patches, go on hay rides, go to halloween stores and look at the costumes.  The looking at costumes helps prepare Ty for Halloween night.
