I have a few minutes to quickly give an update. Depending on when Armahn wakes up, this post might be short or long.
Armahn was born on 07Oct11 at 6:52pm and my birthday is on 07Nov and we are both born closer in time also....which I think is really cool. We are so in love and cannot stop kissing his chubby cheeks.
As most of you know, I went in for induction on 06Oct11 due to cholestasis, but was 3cm dilated, so was sent home. I was suppose to return 07Oct11 to start on pitocin so that the doctor from my branch could deliver my baby. The doctor was amazing and very informative. I went in at 8am and they broke my water right away and I start to have mild contractions. Since I was 3cm dilated, the doctor said I can have epidural at any point. It was upto me. I waited an hour after realizing that it might take some time for epi to kick in. Thank God I did that, because the anesthegiologist had a difficult time getting my epi in. He tried about 12 times (it really sucked). I was worried that I may not get it. While he was doing this, I could hear another women at 9cm dilated crying on top of her lungs (she didn't take any meds)....This freaked me out, but after 45mins or later I got the epi. Epi is awesome!!! I was so relaxed and had a lot of popsicles while pitocin did its job.
The ob checked me after 5hrs and I was 5cm dilated and baby's head dropped nicely. The ob stayed past his shift to deliver my baby, which was so nice. A little after 6pm, I was 10cm dilated and ob decided that I should start to push. I pushed for about 30 mins and Armahn was born at 6:52pm. He weighed 8lb 13oz! and 22inches long. I was shocked when they told me how big he was and surprised that I delivered him vaginally. The obs were thinking that I would have 7 to 7 and half lbs baby, but they were so off. I tore pretty bad and had issues walking for 4 days past delivery. The labor was not as bad as the recovery.
I have been struggling with breastfeeding for the past few days and finally got advice from a lactation consultant and have a path forward. My son has a frenulum, which doesn't let him suck properly and I have been hurting. Now I am pumping until we get this fixed, hopefully tomorrow. Ok, gotta go, he is ready for his next feeding.
Here is a picture of my lovely son!

Re: Introducing my "take home baby"
