Hi there... I am relocating to the Carmel area in a few months & was just starting to look at the state site for the child care ratings, etc. I was surprised to see very few 4 star rated facilities (I don't want to do home care) in the zip codes I was looking in... any idea why this is? I did see there are several primrose & goddard schools so I know I'll look at those and the others that are 3 star in the area as well but right now we are at a center that we love, which is a 4 star and I know there are many equally wonderful 3 star facilities out there and where I live now, the 4th star often has to do with the # of staff who have bachelor degrees, so it isn't about the facility itself or the curriculum, etc. I do feel that the degree makes a difference (I work in higher ed so I'm biased) but I guess I was just a little surprised that the only 4 star I saw in all of Carmel was a home center w/ 12 kids.Any advice or other places to look for reviews of centers to get started would be great. Obviously I will visit several & get a feel, ask questions, etc.Another question, are there any forums for local Indy moms out there? I had joined one called MomsLikeMe and it just announced it is closing. I looked to see if there was a mommiesnetwork.com site & there is but it appears to not have many members...would love a local online resource if there is one! Thanks!
