So lately I can not get her to take a decent nap unless we are in the car or about 3 times a week she will surprise us and take a 2hr nap in her swing. Yesterday and today her naps are 20-45 minutes. She is currently working on her 3rd nap since she woke up at 7:30am. So instead of a 2 hr morning nap, I am getting 3 30 minute naps. What is going on and how do you ladies deal with this? I am thinking of moving her to her crib for naps if this doesn't change. I am getting nothing done. She is in good spirits too, but her nighttime stretch is slowly decreasing. Bad naps result in bad nighttime sleep...8 hr stretches are now 4-5hr stretches and she is having issues going back to sleep when she wakes at 3am?? Help!
oh, I posted on 0-3 too, but no one responded ![]()
Re: Naps??? What's the deal
Do you have a swing?? At first our DS hated the swing but now he takes great naps in it. He also naps best in the car and the entire time were out.
Also try put a fuzzy/soft blanket down on her crib then laying her on top of it. DS would never nap in his crib, did this and got a 3 hour nap. He usually takes a few 30-40 min naps and doesn't STTN yet.
We are fighting naps at my house too. White noise is the best solution I have found. He will sometimes nap in the swing, but fusses a bit before he falls asleep.
DS is a snacker throughout the day, so I think he is always hungry, which wakes him up. I can't seem to keep him up to eat long enough, because he is so tired. I wouldn't mind so much if he would be happy when he was awake, but he seems so upset when he is awake that I try my best to put him to sleep.
Sorry so many of you ladies are dealing with this too... it's a bummer!
OP- Good luck with the naps, try some white noise if you haven't already, I downloaded a great app on my cell phone that has worked well today. It's called Nap-something...
Since Sunday we haven't had more than cat naps throughout the day (luckily it hasn't affected night sleeping). Today I decided we needed to get back on schedule. I just put him in his swaddle around 9:30 when he was showing signs of being tired, rocked him for a minute, and put him in his portacrib when he fell asleep. He took a real 2.5 hour nap. Try the swaddle if you haven't in the past, it's worth a shot!
Yeah and sometimes she will go down right after she eats because she didn't get a good nap prior to that. She did just take a 2 hrs nap in her swing so that's an improvement. I am going to go shopping for a couple of hours just so she can get another good nap today. Thanks ladies
