Mastitis killing my supply...or is it just regulating?

Is it coincidence that my supply has now drastically gone down? I am on day three of antibiotics for Mastitis. 

I used to get anywhere from 10-16oz after nursing LO in the morning and then again the same amount before bed. So I was stashing 20-32oz a day. Now I am only getting 8oz top at each session, usually only 6oz.  I dont have that full feeling in the breasts anymore either.... 

What do you all think...can Mastitis or the antibiotic kill your supply like that?

    I noticed after I had mastitis that my supply had decreased. Its been a few weeks now and my supply has built back up. I bet once you finish the meds your supply will increase again :)

    Mastitis can definitely have an effect on your supply, but that is a helluva lot of milk to pump in one session. I think you are doing better than average, for sure, even with a decreased supply!

    Mastitis affected my supply big time...I had it in both sides pretty bad but my right side was the worst. I am just now noticing it going back up(3 weeks later?) but def not where it was...I am a EP now and what I wouldn't give for my huge supply I had in the beginning...

    My supply went down drastically when I had mastitis.  I had to supplement formula for about a week starting on the second day I had it.  (But my supply has always been just enough not extra.) I took fenugreek/blessed thistle and it came back up.

    Oh and that is awesome that you are able to pump so much.  I am amazed.  A good pumping session after ds's morning nursing for me is 3 oz.

    Mastitis and the antibiotic will tank your supply.

    I'm an over producer too and that's about what I get for my norm this time around.. The last time I had mastitis my supply tanked and I was only getting 5oz at most total down from 20oz

    It should go back to norm once you're off the antibiotic for a while. As long as you have enough for LO I wouldnt worry too much
