how long did you take pain meds?

i am 11 days out and taking the motrin 3 times in a 24 hour period. i remember being off of the motrin by 2 weeks with my first but i don't think that will be the case this time. i guess i will try to cut out 1 dose and go 12 hours and see how i feel...just wondering how long everyone else took them for?

I can't honestly remember the length of time but I am pretty sure I just finished out the Rx that I was given at discharge. It was probably about 2 weeks worth of extra strength IBprofen.

I also do not remember the time I finished but I DID finish out the pain meds that I was prescribed at discharge. With my first DD I even tried to call my OB for a refill and he told me they didn't do that and told me to just take over the counter ibuprofen. LOL - I was a druggie!

I took it for almost 2 weeks and I took 1 every 12 hours. hope it gets better soon.

I honestly can not remember how long, but I know it was less than 2 weeks. When I left the hospital I have a perscription for 2 weeks that I never finished. I only quit taking them because I would start to get shakey when it was getting close to time for another dose. I quit when I realized this since I didn't want to become addicted.

I was on heavy pain killer for the first three days and then IBprofin 800 for three additional days. After that I would take Ibprofin as needed if I had a bad day.

With my first, I was off them completely by 6 days postpartum. My second was a whole 'nother story. I had a horrible, horrible recovery this time and busted some internal stitches at 3.5 weeks postpartum. I took them intermittently until almost 6 weeks.

With my first c/s, I was off all med by 10 or 11 days pp. Once we got home from the hospital, I think I took percocet just before bed for 2 days and then just motrin. My recovery with DS2 was amazingly quick and I was off all meds by 5 days pp.

I alternated ibuprofen and tylenol every three hours for two weeks. I'd switch out the tylenol for a percocet before bed. Then I just took ibuprofen as needed.

I took Motrin every 6 hours for the first 2 weeks. After that I just took it as needed for another week or so.

I took percocet for 4 nights after discharge from the hospital. I've been taking motrin as needed which is anywhere from 1-3 times per day and I am 9 days out. 2 days ago, I didn't take anything and felt ok until I rolled over pretty quickly to check on LO, and it hurt pretty bad. I'm going to give myself some more time before I try that again.

I took meds for about 2 weeks after #1 was born and for almost 3 weeks after #2 was born. I had hard recoveries. You could try to cut a dose out and see how you feel...

I stopped taken the "good" pain meds the day after surgury and switched to Motrin only. When I left the hospital the Dr gave me an Rx for Motrin. I want to say it was for a 100 tabs. I took the last one yesterday for a headache so I'm looking at 3 1/2 years.

Seriously though, I took the Motrin twice a day for at least 2 weeks I think.

took percocet for maybe a week after discharge, 1-2 times per day and also extra strength motrin for that week and an additional week slowly lessening the amount til only at bedtime then nothing at all

I was on pain killers for the first 3-4 days in the hospital. Once I came home I only took motrin for the first few days and now 2 weeks later I'm on nothing.

I stopped taking the heavy pain meds the day after the c/s and motrin before I left the hospital (3 days later). I had to take motrin once or twice at home after I pushed myself physically too hard but recovery wasn't too bad for me.

Percocet for ~10 days and kept up the motrin till just before 3 wks although I cut it down to 1 pill every 6 hrs after the 2nd week.
