Britax Carseats

I'm looking into buying our next carseat. I'm wondering thoughts between the Britax models.  They all have great reviews, but not sure about the features. I think I'm deciding between the Boulevard CS, Boulevard, and Marathon.  Also, I'm looking on Diapers.com and found the CS models for much lower than Buy Buy Baby. Any idea why? Are they discontinued and/or is there a newer model? I'm hesitant to buy it, but the sale price is awesome! Thanks for your help!

Re: Britax Carseats

  • I love my Boulevard CS- I got it off of Amazon for 240, I think. The conveniences like not having to rethread the harness are totally worth the extra money. It's also pretty cush- I wouldn't mind sitting on it.

  • We have the Boulevard CS for #1.  Truth is the CS wasn't really worth the extra money.  I'd bet the cost difference is because Buy Buy Baby always has those 20% off coupons.  It should bring it more in line.  It could be that the seat is older too.
  • We bought the Boulevard CS, also.  It was only around $10 more expensive, and I like the Click and Safe feature.  I'm always wondering if I tightened the car seat correctly.  (I worry that I make it too tight or leave it too loose.)  It clicks when she is tightened correctly, and I think this is helpful.  Also, she seems to really like the car seat, and I like that the fabric is so soft for her.  I also like the side impact and head protection.

  • We have two Britax Marathons.  Love them so far.  I got great deals on them at Amazon $195 and Target (during a sale) for $160.  I don't know much about features from one model to the next, but so far my seat has everything that I need.  No complaints.

  • We have 3 Roundabouts (2 50s and a 55), a Boulevard and a Frontier.  I've also had a Graco MyRide 65, Graco Nautilus and Maxi Cosi something.  The Britax are BY FAR the most well made and easiest to install.  If money is an issue I like the Roundabouts.  Rethreading the straps is something you do really infrequently.  As in for my 3 year old I've done it twice in his convertible seats.  And even with the Boulevard, if the seat gets dirty you have to take the straps out to wash the cover.  So while it's nice, if that's your deciding factor I wouldn't purchase a carseat that is more expensive just because of the straps, ya know?

  • We got our Britax Marathon classic and sale at Target for $150.  It is different than the normal Marathon because it can rear face for 5 lbs less and forward face for 5 lbs less.  I figure that is work $100.  It has all the other features of the regular Marathon.  I was reading in Baby steals that the Marathon is a "higher end" car seat.  The Boulevard is more slim and will fit into smaller cars better.

  • We have two Boulevards for DD#1 and love them.  I got great deals on ours from www.albeebaby.com

  • We went with the Boulevard CS.  Some of the Britax models have different height and weight capabilities so keep that in mind when researching.
