Boston Babies

Boston Area Fertility Center Recommendations

Hello,

I just found out that my second round of IVF resulted in a negative and am kind of at a loss for where to go from here.  It appears that our issue is egg quality and I've heard that if after two cycles you don't have success, you should move on because the quality of the lab could be contributing to the quality of the embryos.  I am debating switching clinics and was wondering if anybody has recommendations for facilities and/or specific doctors.  I live in Waltham so going into Boston isn't an issue...

Thanks so much in advance!

  • We had a successful IVF/ICSI cycle at Fertility Solutions in Dedham. Check them out!

  • Thanks so much for your recommendation.  I was actually wondering about that facility.  Since they are so new, there are no ratings or reviews on it nor do I know anyone that has been there.  May I ask who your doctor was there?
  • I saw Dr. Kowalik at Fertility Solutions and Im due today with our little boy. They are a new practice but the docs who work there/opened this facility came from Reproductive Science Center. They are four women. Awesome place, awesome docs. I recommend any of them. Good luck!
  • I've been seeing Dr. Pang at RSC in Lexington since April and am happy with the facility so far.  I'm not pregnant so I can't really speak from "success" but the nurses have all been amazing and their hours are very convenient.  I think Dr. Pang is very knowledgeable about my condition (DOR) but he doesn't necessarily give off warm-fuzzy vibes.  I think "Jenniferluvscandy" also goes to RSC and sees a different doctor that she likes a lot.  We've done 2 IUIs, one natural, one Clomid and are now on Gonal-F.  We have to do three medicated IUIs before our insurance (Fallon) will cover IVF.

    Best of luck to you!

  • my husband and I go to BostonIVF in Waltham but there are a couple locations. We see Dr. Bayer and love him!
  • Dr Rachel Ashby at Brigham and Women's. All the staff were incredible. I tried another RE a couple years ago in Stoneham and it was pretty bad. He just wanted to keep doing more diagnostic testing and even a laparoscopy for no medical reason. Dr Ashby at BWH was so positive and helpful. It was never "If" you get pregnant is was always "When" you get pregnant. All the staff and nurses were top notch, reassuring and so awesome. Even after a mix up with dropping off my DH S/A sample, the office manager was running around the hospital to get things straight with registration so his sample wouldn't expire. Best of luck on your journey!

  • I also went to Brigham Womens and like previous poster, I would highly recommend Dr. Ashby - seriously one of the best doctors I have ever met.
She was encouraging, positive, and she really 'gets it' in terms of how difficult infertiltiy is to deal with.
The staff at BWH were also great to deal with.

Good Luck, I hope everything works out for you.

  • Thank you all much for all your recommendations!  I'm glad to hear some reviews of Fertility Solutions because up until now I hadn't heard anything about them.  I'm definitely going to add them and Brigham to my list of appointments to set up.  I think it's really going to come down to who my husband and I click with...

I wish you all success and a H&H 9 months to those of you that have already had success!

  • I have to recommend Fertility Centers of NE...They have locations in Dedham, N. Reading and few others. I have 2 little boys b/c of their fantastic doctors, technicians and labs. I saw Dr. Hill for my first son, he's very clinical and knows his stuff, I also saw Dr. Hardy who is amazing. For my second we saw Dr. Weiss and I loved him.

My only advice in speaking with all these centers is make sure they have access to all the top level facilities and specialists in case your situation is more than just an IVF one.

My husband and I had a genetic issue, our only ability to conceive was with IVF/PGD(I'm not sure its called this anymore) so our clinic was affiliated with a great genetics lab and geneticist that was able to pinpoint our problem and create the necessary test for us when the embryo was 3 days old...amazing stuff but just make sure again wherever you chose has all the capabilities. Good luck!

  • I also recommend Fertility Centers of NE - I went to Dr. Hardy in Reading as well.  He did all the right testing, and gave us options based on our situtation, never felt pressured at any point, and his team have been so helpful as well.
