So 'tis the season and I think a lot of us have been apple picking (or will be going sometime this fall). Do you mind sharing some of your recipes? I won't make pie b/c I've tried a bunch of times and can never get it right, I've just given up. Apple crisp? Applesauce? Apple bread? Share whatever is yummy!

This! scroll down to the "German Apple Cake"....delicious!! But, I'm a nut for anything with creme cheese frosting, lol!
I know you said you don't make apple pie - but neither do I and I make it in the crock pot. I can't remember where I got this recipe - maybe from a crock pot recipe book a long time ago?
12 apples cored and peeled and sliced.
1 3/4 t cinnamon
1/3 t allspice
1/3 t nutmug
1 1/4 cup milk
4 T Butter, softened
1 1/4 cup sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 t vanilla extract
2 1/4 cup bisquick
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
4 T Butter, chilled
Toss apples with cinnamon, allspice, and nutmeg. Add to crok pot with (milk, softened butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and 3/4 cup bisquick). Combine 1 1/2 cup Bisquick and brown sugar, and cut in chilled butter. Sprinkle over mixture in crockpot. Do not stir. Cook on low for 6 hours.
I did apple sauce in the crock pot the other day:
10-12 apples, peeled and cubed
1 cup sugar (I felt this was too much. I would start w less and add more if desired)
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla
2 tbsp butter
Cook on high 4 hours.
I just made this cake for my gram's bday yesterday. It was so good, and really moist.
We apple picked on Saturday, so I have lots of apples to use up. But at the rate we are eating them, they might not last long! I'll probably go to the farmers market to buy a bushel and make a batch or 2 of applesauce.
