Trying to Get Pregnant

Every day or every other?

I read up a lot on this and I see a lot of times people saying that every other day really only pertains to men who are over the age of 35 or have a known low sperm count. I haven't asked a doctor this question and feel silly calling for just that. Anyone get a medical opinion on this one?

  • It is really a personal preference. As long as YH doesn't have any sperm count issues, ED is fine.

    Your LO is so cute!!

  • My RE told us to do EOD until I got a positive OPK, and then ED until confirmed O.  Really with no sperm issues it is a personal preference.

  • I haven't received any medical opinions, but last cycle we had sex ED, so this cycle we are going to try EOD. My DH is 35, so maybe EOD will be better for us. Only time will tell!

The bolded is what I've been hearing too.  I've been trying to do EOD until my OPK turns positive and then ED...if MH cooperates.  Your son is absolutely adorable!!!

  • According to fertilityfriend.com, unless your DH has been diagnosed w. low sperm count or another issue, the MORE the better during your fertile window, and each time will only increase your chance.  To me, this makes a lot of sense...For example, if you have sex one day two times, maybe the first time 30 million sperm are floating around and then later, you have sex again and maybe only 15 million are floating around...well that's 15 million sperm that weren't there before... ...BUT ...I am CERTAINLY no medical professional

ps--> completely agree on the picture what a doll and I love the name Kingston!

  • We do it EOD all month long (except when AF is here). This way, we dont miss the fertile window (I dont temp/chart). Neither of us could go ED!

  • We do it EOD. I am hoping to keep it up all month and ED wouldn't be practical for us.

    GL to you!

  • To quote TCOYF: "You should have intercourse every day that you have wet cervical fluid or vaginal sensation, through to and including the day of the first rise in temperature." It is most important to have sex as close to your Peak Day as possible.

We had pretty good timing the last few months by doing it ED and still no luck. We're going to try EOD this cycle to give his sperm the extra day in between to build up.
