Recommendations for occupational therapy

Lauren needs occupational therapy and we have been using through CHOA so far. We would like to find a better place that is honest with their billing practices. We live in Smyrna and would like to do OT nearby, if possible. CHOA is awful and have lied and grossly underestimated what they would bill us. When I took her for her evaluation they said that we would owe "a very small bill". Come to find out our bill will be over $400. If I had know it would cost that much we would have found another place to do the evaluation for us. They also overcharged us on another bill even though I have A phone message with one of their representatives confirming that we owed a lower amount than what we were billed. It is sickening how they take complete advantage of special needs children.

    I totally agree with you on CHOA and billing they drive me crazy.  I have tricare insurance which pretty much covers everything so I havne't had too many issues once I got them to let me actually make apts.  I do know that the therapist I use at CHOA also has does private OT on the side.  I can not possibly say enough good things about her and if you went to the North Druid Hills location you may have meet her.  If you would like her contact info just send me an e-mail at lindsaymelda at gmail.  I have considered paying out of pocket for some extra OT sessions becuase I see such a major improvement in Adam from him working with her.  I am sure they are not supposed to tell you they work somewhere else (and she actually has never mentioned it), but one of my very good friends used to work with her.  I'm actually hoping that I might can get her to do some home therapy with the babies can't wait program.
