Transitioning from the bottle

I know we need to get away from using a bottle and she drinks water, yogurt, and juice from a sippy but is so difficult about drinking milk. My thoughts today were to just switch and she'd have to use the sippy for milk. The first one (nuby) she just refused and she drank a little from the second (take and toss) but also let's it dribble from her mouth. Just keep pushing the sippy and go cold turkey? I know we have to use bottles for baby #2 so I'd like to have a couple of months of being bottle free to hopefully avoid confusion.

Re: Transitioning from the bottle

  • I have heard most people have the best success with cold turkey (I am not one of them-though)

L still has a night time bottle and as long as I give him a sippy right when he gets up- we can avoid the morning one...

I'm hoping with the baby coming I wont have L adding bottles back into his routine

  • We didn't have this problem, as E always drank milk well from the sippy cup, so all I can say is Good Luck.  I think some kids use bottles longer than others...

  • Thanks! I'm even planning to keep the before bed bottle for now. Yesterday wasn't exactly super successful though, maybe today will go better. I am such a pushover and give in much too easily :-/
