Hi all!  Sorry for the delay; I was crazy busy at work yesterday and was away from my computer most of the day.

For those of you who are new to the board, the PgAL check-in is a check-in for May 2012 moms who have suffered a previous pregnancy or infant loss.

    So...

How is everyone doing this week emotionally? I'm ok. I had another bleeding episode last Sunday, so it was a nervewracking start to my week.

Symptoms? I'm incredibly tired, sore boobs, and still nauseous. Also gagging all the time.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for? Went to the doctor's on Monday for an emergency u/s after the bleeding, and it looks like I passed what was left of Baby B. Our LO looks strong and healthy, with a h/b of 170 and measured 3 days ahead! Grow little bean, grow!

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? I just wish I could have an uneventful week. Every time I start to relax and get excited, something happens that freaks me out.

GTKY of the week:  What was your favorite TV show as a kid? I loved Mickey Mouse Club on Disney. I had such a crush on a redheaded guy on it named Chase. I remember we moved when I was 7, and I was devastated because we wouldn't have cable at our new house, so I wouldn't be able to watch him anymore.

    Have a great, UNEVENTFUL week!

How is everyone doing this week emotionally?

It has been a weird week.  My first EDD was yesterday, but I got to see our 8 week old LO with a heartbeat, so it was a mixed bag of emotions.

    Symptoms?

    Nausea, sore boobs, fatigue

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for?

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest?

Still just sad for the women that leave our board due to loss that get hundreds of views and only 20 responses.  I also still have a hard time with pregnant women IRL.

GTKY of the week:  What was your favorite TV show as a kid?

When I was really little, Thundercats, but as an older kid probably Family Matters or Full House.

    Have a great, UNEVENTFUL week!

  • How is everyone doing this week emotionally?

I am doing ok.  Some days I think this is it, I'm going to have a baby in May and others I get mad at myself for connecting to the baby because there is no way I'm going to not miscarry.

    Symptoms?

Still feeling sick every hour of every day.  My boobs are still tender and I swear they have gotten bigger Indifferent

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for?

I have my 1st appointment (well "normal pregnancy" appointment) on the 18th.  I am still too scared to write it in pen on my calender.

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest?

My mom and MIL both knew about my first lost and how difficult it was for me.  I told them early this time (because DH is gone for the military and I needed the support) and instead of being excited but cautious for me they are just becoming overbearing.  My mom wanted me to come over yesterday to get down my old crib for the baby and my MIL asked me what kind of diaper bad I wanted.  I am still having trouble buying myself maternity clothes without panicing that I'm going to jinx myself, so this is not helping.

GTKY of the week:  What was your favorite TV show as a kid?

That is a way hard one.  Pretty much anything on Nick.. Clarissa, Slaute Your Shorts, Are you Affraid of the Dark!

    So...

How is everyone doing this week emotionally?  As usual, I go back and forth.  Just today I was thinking how tired I am of being so scared all the time.  And thinking how far away the 2nd tri seems, and how even then I still don't think I'll feel at ease.

Symptoms?  They finally started kicking in for me this past Saturday:  nausea, crazy fatigue, 24/7 queasies, boobs are even more sore than usual, etc.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for?  We had one last Thursday that went well--LO growing right on track and still with a strong HB in the 150s.  We have another u/s today (my doctor is amazing and basically told me to come in whenever I want--let's just hope she's coding me in such a way that my bills won't be obscene) that I'm incredibly nervous for.

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest?  Kind of along the same lines as above, I am so tired of being so anxious/stressed/scared all the time.  Like other than the few hours immediately after a good appointment, I feel no relief.  And everyone around here seems to be talking about baby names, maternity clothes, making the big announcement, etc., and I can't even assume at this point that I'll still be pregnant tomorrow.

GTKY of the week:  What was your favorite TV show as a kid?  As a very little kid it was Punky Brewster.  When I got a little older it was Perfect Strangers--not a kid show but I loved watching it with my dad every week.

    Have a great, UNEVENTFUL week!

  • Hello ladies!

I'm doing ok emotionally.  No big freak outs lately. I had a dream the other day of actually giving birth, the first positive pregnancy dream in a sea of nightmares.

Dry heaving  up a storm.  I had one of those wonderful days of relief last week, which of course I freaked out over not having symptoms, but thank god, they came back.  (I know this means nothing, yet I still freak out...)

Friday is my "initial intake visit", even though I've been in twice, its just now "officially" begiinning.  I wish they could just check again to make sure baby is still growing in there, but I'm fairly sure they won't.

I loved TGIF, Full House, Boy Meets World, etc.  I remember having slumber parties and eating lots of junk food and camping out in the living room watching it!

     Have a great week/weekend ladies!!

Symptoms? Thats what I'm afraid of. I havent had any since last Thursday when I spotted some (Then again on Wed). The only thing I feel is nauseous when I dont eat right away but I get that feeling when I'm not pregnant.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for? No appts til at least 12 weeks :(

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? I just wish I knew what was going on. This is exactly how things happened with my m/c and my doctor doesnt seem to listen to anything I say.

  • How is everyone doing this week emotionally?

OK, I thought I would be amazingly better once I had my first u/s. And I was (it was amazing) but now I cant wait to see it again on the 17th.

    Symptoms?

None really. I get a little tired and sometimes queasy- but not bad and not often. My boobs are sore and it was hard running and jump ropeing yesterday (might have to double  up on the sports bras)

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for?

I had an awesome u/s on Monday and we got to see it and its little heartbeat (113) and I go for my real first appointment on the 17th (another u/s and all the 1st appt stuff).

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest?

I hate to see girls leave the may board. I wish they had more posts and less looks. Everytime I read them it takes me back to my horrible 1st u/s with my loss.

I wish I felt more pregnant.

GTKY of the week:  What was your favorite TV show as a kid?

Punky Brewster, Blossom and Wonder Years-- I wanted to marry Fred Savage. I would write him fan letters (love notes) and wait for him to send me one back (never got one). I had all the Tiger Beats and Bop magazines he was in. I had a notebook in my closet where I wrote my letters and the cover was all :Christy L Savage, Mrs Christy Savage, Christy and Fred 4-EVA, Mr and Mrs Fred and Christy Savage. Ahhhh, I was such a dork.

  • How is everyone doing this week emotionally?

I'm a complete wreck.  Several old/bad milestones this week are keeping me off-balance and making me crazy.  I need to know whether or not this pregnancy is continuing/thriving.  Getting to a point where I can regularly/reliably use a doppler would be a big help.

    Symptoms?

Lessening a bit.  Fatigue returned in strong waves, nightmares and now some mild insomnia appearing.  I am not queasy all the time, but I can go from feeling ok to 'oh god, going to throw up' in minutes.  Boobs not sore.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for?

First appt with the peri tomorrow morning.  Thinking about it starts sweaty palms and faster heart beat.  I've been told he's great, human, etc.  But I am so afraid of walking in, finding out growth stopped a week ago or something and feeling so enormously embarrassed at wasting everyone's time.  It's like a movie loop playing in my head.

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest?

I really, really am having a hard time with the anxiety right now.  Also having a difficult time seeing people complain about u/s.  I think because I'm petrified about my appointment.  But people seem to forget they are not there for reassurance or entertainment.  The anatomy scan is not about finding out the sex.  U/S are diagnostic tools, not fun movies.

Maybe you just have to go through bad u/s to understand it.  There is such a common belief that a healthy baby is a sure thing, that things will naturally go perfectly that people have a tendency to ignore the actual purpose of the things and focus on the frivolous or secondary nature of it.  I get it, I was naive once too.  But it's really grating on me today.  I think because a friend off-handedly said how lucky I was to get so many u/s.  She wasn't thinking through, she was trying to reassure me about my appt tomorrow, but no - I am not lucky.  Lucky would be not a high risk pregnancy, lucky would be a normal, healthy pregnancy with an NT scan and an anatomy scan.

You overestimated by a few years...I turned 28 in April.  I was a little young for both shows but I remember them vividly.

You got me curious so I looked it up, Punky was on from '84-'88.  Perfect Strangers was from '86-'93.  So I was 1 when Punky started and 5 when it ended, and 3 when Perfect Strangers started and 10 when it ended.  I am guessing I probably only watched the later seasons of Punky when I was like 4 and 5 and maybe the other ones were on VHS, because my dad recorded EVERYTHING.  And Perfect Strangers I am guessing I didn't start watching until after the first few seasons, because I doubt I would have been watching that at 3...although who knows; my parents pretty much let us watch whatever they watch so if my dad had it on I bet I was watching it with him.

Ahhh!  I'm getting so nostalgic.  Do you remember Fraggle Rock too?!?!

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? I just wish I could have an uneventful week. Every time I start to relax and get excited, something happens that freaks me out.

I'm having a hard time not freaking out.  Things were starting to feel ok until the spotting on Monday...and the u/s was not reassuring at all even though everything I read afterwards confirms that b/c I O'd on CD17, it really was just too early for one.   Still mild spotting here and there and...yeah, it's scary.

Symptoms? This week the fatigue hit hard.  Unisom/B6 seems to help the m/s but the unisom makes the fatigue worse.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for? Monday....and there better be a h/b there!

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? Not really

GTKY of the week: What was your favorite TV show as a kid?  Preteen years- Saved by the Bell!!

  • How is everyone doing this week emotionally? Emotionally I'm doing well. Still checking the toilet paper every time I go to the bathroom (never made it this far!), but that's going to be a tough habit to break. Trying not to freak out because my wedding is next Saturday (10-15)! Lots going on, but trying to stay as calm and stress-free as possible!

Symptoms? My boobs are sore, not much m/s, always get tired at 2:30pm and wish I could crawl under my desk and take a nap!

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for? None until 10-24.

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? Not really, I'm good this week.

GTKY of the week: What was your favorite TV show as a kid? Don't laugh, I loved Airwolf and The Golden Girls!

  • First, HUGE HUGS to everyone who is feeling anxious and having a hard week!

How is everyone doing this week emotionally? - I'm okay. Tomorrow will be the day I started bleeding last time. I think tomorrow might be a little hard but I am just taking it moment by moment.

Symptoms? - Sore boobs, tired, nausea and some dry heaving.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for?- Nope

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? - I almost got outed on Facebook. DH decided not to tell as many people this time around but the one person he told decided to say Congrats on Facebook. Luckily I saw it right away and caught it before anyone else did.

GTKY of the week:  What was your favorite TV show as a kid? - Oh there are so many. Blossom, Saved by the Bell, Hey Dude, Clarissa, Fraggle Rock.

    Have a great, UNEVENTFUL week!

  • I love this blast from the past with tv shows! I think I have to say full house was my favorite. My week has been pretty good. Still exhausted and nauseous...yay. I can't believe I'm only 2 weeks away from 12 weeks. I'm sure it will be a slow 2 weeks. My anxiety is pretty low because I had a great appt/ultrasound yesterday. I get to see baby again on the 20th. In the meantime, I'll use my home Doppler nightly!

How is everyone doing this week emotionally? Honestly, I'm not doing so great. Today has been incredibly emotional for me. TMI ahead...when I wiped today, there was blood. I'm completely terrified. I'm not bleeding but there was blood. I called the nurse on call and she is supposedly having a doctor call me back but he hasn't yet.

Symptoms? So freaked out that I'm not sure.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for? I would really love some T&Ps right now.

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? I understand the previous poster's gripe about ultrasound, but I have gone through a negative ultrasound that resulted in the announcement of a miscarriage. While I certainly did not want to result of the ultrasound to be miscarriage, I am glad that I found out and I was able to move forward physically and emotionally from there. So I'm don't understand why it would irritate anyone that someone else may want an ultrasound for emotional relief. It's not for amusement or for entertainment, it's for reassurance and self preservation.

How is everyone doing this week emotionally? I get frustrated with little things quickly, but much less sentimental/weepy than the last two weeks.

Symptoms? Major nausea when I eat and occasionally throughout the day. Boobies are still a little sore. Sleepy.

Any doctors appointments to report on or upcoming ones that you need T&Ps for? Nope. Have three weeks to go 'til our first appt.

Any PgAL gripes/vents/etc. that you want to get off your chest? My dad has told all of his close friends (family friends) even though I asked him not to. He knows we lost a little one the last time we were pregnant, but he's just so excited (he didn't know we were pregnant last time until after the fact). It's hard to be mad at him, but still ... I'm a little peeved.

GTKY of the week:  What was your favorite TV show as a kid? Depends on what age we're talking about. Some include Doug, Saved by the Bell, and Daria.

  • *Wanted to add a HUGE (albeit virtual) hug to those feeling anxious this week. :/  I know there's not much anyone can say to lessen it, but I hope knowing people are thinking about/supporting you helps a little. <3
