... I truly, truly HATE the Dr Jekyll/Mr Hyde sh!t that happens to my DH in the night??!?!
Simon was up from 9:30 PM- 1 AM last night. He's totally figured out we can't let him cry for danger of falling out of the crib, and he sleeps in our arms and wails and climbs as soon as we set him down. It's really out of control and last night was the worst... seriously over THREE hours of it.
Somehow my husband turns in to a freaking rude a$$ monster prince who feels entitled to his sleep and treats me like the nanny just because the sun goes down?!?!
We had the best day yesterday and things have been going so well lately.
I think I'm married to a vampire. And not a good sexy Twilight one or whatever. A mean bastard one. Ugh. It's not only three hours of fussy baby it's three hours of fighting with DH. And how can I calm the baby down when he makes me so mad?!?!?
The crib tent is on order and should be here by Thursday at the latest. I'm hoping the elves at Amazon work overtime for me and it will be here tonight. I ordered it at 11 PM last night and I paid for the overnight shipping. Seriously this kid is KILLING me/us. I would be easier if I didn't have to deal with the kid AND the ogre, though. Seriously.
I emailed my husband this morning and gmail ads pop up like "10 things women do to ruin their relationship" and "is your wife cheating on you?". #$%^. I don't want it to be like this.
And if you're going to lay in to me for being a b!tch wife or whatever, save it. I probably have you blocked anyway. I'm just tired and needing somewhere to vent. If you read this much, I'll by you a crib tent and zip your butt in there for a good three hour nap. Sounds good to me.

OMG...I am feeling your pain this morning. Let's vent about our toddlers and ogres together.
H isn't climbing out yet, but the appearantly he doesn't like the sound of rain! Seriously?!?!?! This kid has slept with a noise machine since day one and now he doesn't like the sound of rain?
Oh, and DH's reaction? To just sleep through it all. ARGH!!!!!! Don't I wish I could do that, how is it possible? I ended up falling asleep on H's floor with my hand through the crib holding his hand....now my neck is sore and I'm beyond ready for Friday to get here.
A three hour nap sounds heavenly right now.
I totally understand. Been there.
My method was a little passive & some may say manipulative. I cried. I cried a lot. He can't resist the cry. That broke the ice, opened the table for conversation and we devised a plan.
At about the time DC became a confident walker and over confident runner, we began having sleep issues. So we gave in and transitioned his crib to the toddler day bed. Allowing him the perception that he had freedom. Amazingly it worked. He started STTN again.
*I will throw up a disclaimer, DC has never been the kid to exit his bed or his room without hearing from us. We didn't invent or reinforce behavior, he just is that way. Mind you this does not include fighting sleep at the beginning of the night, but once he's fallen asleep the deal is done.
Also, even when I hear DC, I just lay there. Reactionless. Pretending to be asleep (much like I assumed DH did). Sometimes it's hard to ignore, but I do. DH eventually gets up.
Oh and during that Cry Talk, we discussed that he cannot approach DC in the middle of the night, darkness, while grumbling or with attitude as it might scare DC. He agreed and we haven't had much of a grumpy gus since.
There are nights when I have turned into your husband. Seriously, I can be a complete and utter *** when the kids have me at my wits end and I'm trying to sleep. I've faked not hearing one of them cry on many an occasion. I'm a dickhead. You and my DH could commiserate together.
I'm sorry he's such an ass about his sleep, I mean I need my sleep in a serious way but it sure doesn't mean I'm a *** to DH about it.......sooooooooo unnecessary

I hope the crib tent get there super fast. Do you have a video monitor? If not maybe someone will let you borrow one tonight, you could put a ton of cushions besides his crib and watch him on the monitor ready to spring if he actually makes a serious move to get out. I know Cooper would often put his leg up on the side but in the end he never really tried to climb out.
At least with Amazon you can watch your tracking and see exactly where it's going and when it will show up.
I was up with you last night. Ugg, it sucks and because DH has to be up for work he thinks its the get out of waking up with the kiddo. The other night DD woke up twice, I got up the first time and the second I said it's your turn! He didn't have to be at work the next day, but he was pissed. I got up in time to go to MOPS and left LO with him.
Do the tents come in King size?
Your DH and my DH must be long lost brother Vampires, sorry you had a tough night. DH and I go through this kind of thing at bed time often and he just does not get it... dont know if he ever will.
