I've mentioned before how I teach college undergrads. Today some girls in one of my labs finally realized that I'm pregnant. The girls got all excited-oohing and ahhing over my belly, and started asking me about my pregnancy, if I knew I was having a boy or girl, do I feel the baby kick, etc. One then asked my due date, and when I told them December 24, they were all taken aback.Student: "So wait, that means you're due pretty soon?" Me: "Yes, in 12 weeks."Student: "Holy crap, I thought you were like three months along! So that means you've been pregnant all semester?!"They all then started chiming in how their aunt/cousin/friend was way huger at this point. Granted, I realize I look more than 3 months pregnant, and that most people have no idea how big/little a pregnant belly should be. I can also tell myself logically that every woman shows differently. But hearing from everyone, all the time, how tiny I am means that of course paranoid, hormonal pregnant brain is kicking in and all I can think about is that the baby isn't growing right. Someone help talk me down off the crazy ledge!

Re: Yet more confirmation that I have the world's tiniest bump
I've carried high and compact and it was not until around 30 weeks that people would notice I was pregnant. I actually thought it was a blessing since it meant I did not have to talk about it much with random strangers and coworkers. I always measured right on track at the doctors office. In fact, my sister carried much the same way, too.
I'm sure your baby is perfect. So long as your doctor says you're on track try not to worry. We do all show differently!
That is how it was with DS1, alot of people didn't know I was pregnant. I hid the pregnancy until 18w and didn't really show until 30w or so. I am pretty small framed and was even smaller then. I thought it odd that strangers never commented or opened doors for me or did any of the things that you would expect them to do for a pregnant lady. I finally realized it was because they didn't know I was pregnant LOL.

Your baby is okay! I'm comfortable with my size because I know the baby is 80th percentile so far. I'm petite, and when I had my son, a lot of people didn't notice until 27 or 28 weeks.
My SIL is also pregnant, and she is 18 weeks along. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow. We had a family dinner tonight, and my husband's cousin's wife said, "omg, you (me) are hardly showing..." She sounded like she was disappointed or something. Then she said, "Look, she (my SIL) looks much bigger!" For a moment it sounded like my bump wasn't good enough, but then when I looked at my SIL's face and realized she may not be happy about the comment either. A lot of people including our MIL has been telling her how big she is...and she is really not that big.
Proud mother of two breech babies:)
This for me! I am only 14 weeks and I am starting to show pretty obviously. But I had chub on my belly already so now it is just "doming" out (can't think of a better way to describe it). I have already had at least 3 people ask if it is twins. Some people just AMAZE me!
I had a friend who was really small her whole pregnancy, looked like 3/4 months at 5 months, looked about 6 months at full term. She was so mad with everyone making comments... Her baby was a completely healthy 6lb + (maybe 12oz?) baby girl.
I wouldn't worry about it too much.

I'm so happy to read your thread!! I'm not nearly as far along as you are, but I'm almost 15 weeks, am down 5 lbs, and have ZERO bump. Still fit into my regular jeans and work pants. Part of me is happy for this, but then I remember my SIL already having a really good sized bump at this point and she is tall and thin also.
I guess everyone is just different, and I have no idea if I may pop in a few weeks or not.
My mom, who I haven't seen in a few weeks, was like "are you sure there is a baby in there?" Not funny, Mom! I just want a little something there!
