3rd Trimester

How "one size" are the mesh panties? Plus size moms.

I was roughly a size18 before I got pregnant. For all you plus size moms who have done this before, is there any chance at all that the mesh panties are going to fit me or should I just give up on this now?

  • I was an 18/20 before my first pregnancy and the mesh panties were just fine for me.

  • I consider myself plus size and I could fit into them.  I was a 16 before DS and gained 60lbs.

  • I was about a size 16 post partum and they fit just fine.  They stretch a lot.

  • Good question! I'm plus size and didn't even think of this.

  • I am a 22/24 and they fit; very stretchy; I just thought they were really uncomfortable

  • I was a 22/24 before I got PG with DD1 and then gained 32lbs.  I didn't find the mesh panties comfortable at all.  I asked for something else and guess what they bought me that I fell in LOVE with...?  Depends!  LOL!  They were much more comfy and I never had a leak while wearing them.  I had a c-section so I wore the Depends the first and second day and then by the third day my bleeding was much less and I switched to my own undies (old ones!) and used the hospital mega pad.

  • I'm plus size also and it's ridiculous how much they stretch! you'll have no issues.

  • I was a 16/18 pre-pregnancy, and put on my first pair of mesh panties today. They fit fine.
  • I was a size 18 (maternity pants) with DS and they fit great! I wouldn't say they're "one size" like they claim because honestly someone who is a size 30 would have a hard time with them, but you will be just fine! And POA, take a few extra home with you so you don't ruin your own undies in the first few days!

  • I was a size 18 pre-preg and got up to 280 just before delivery, and had absolutely zero issue with the mesh panties. And totally agree with a PP on taking a whole bunch of them... I just wore those for the entire first week or two because anything else felt terrible on my c-section scar.
    STM due Feb. 2017!
  • They are VERY flexible.  Kinda like a loose pantyhose type material. You will have no problem fitting into them!  They have to make them big enough to put that huge pad in to soak up everything anyways so it's a very beautiful thing :) lol

What size of Depends worked?  I can only find ones that go to XL....will they work?  When taking them off, do you rip them down the side or slide them off like underwear - I was imagining all kinds of 'smear' down my leg as I take them off?

  • I don't know what size they were - the nurse just brought them to me.  I only used them for a short while.  Your nurse will have your weight (at least from before your baby's birth) in the chart and will find you the correct size.  I was able to pull them down without a mess - they're absorbant - but (TMI) watch for clots.  Then you might want to consider tearing.
