Is anyone else planning your post-delivery meal already? (Sad, I know). If so, what are you having?
I was reading the cantaloupe post and the comments some of you ladies made had me thinking even more about what I want to eat (or think I want to eat) right after this baby is born.
I'm thinking club sandwich complete with lots of lunchmeat and bacon (haha) and maybe a chocolate chip cookie (for no apparent reason other than I will deserve it at that point). I happen to know I can get both of these 24 hours a day from a place within minutes of my hospital ![]()
This may be a post-and-run because I have a crazy cold and am craving a hot shower and sleep soon, but I can't wait to read what you all have to say
Re: Post-Delivery Meal, Anyone?
While in the hospital: Turkey and Swiss sandwich
Home from the hospital: Grilled steak, blue cheese wedge salad and a glass of red wine!
I can't wait for my "home" meal, I made my hubby promise he'd make it for me, and we've been saving a bottle of red from our "last hurrah" trip to Napa before we started TTC for a celebratory post-baby dinner :-)
Yummy!
Ooooh! Good idea--I hadn't even thought about a meal when I'm home from the hospital. I'm going to have to think on that one
This is a good post! I haven't thought about what I'd like post-delivery and for my first meal home. I haven't really restricted any food during the pregnancy, so I'm not overly craving anything in particular. I wasn't a big drinker before baby, so I could probably continue going without a drink also. You definitely have me thinking!
I have salmon sushi and miso soup for lunch twice a week... mmmmm!!!!! i haven't allowed myself to order the higher mercury level fish such as sushi grade tuna or yellow tail, even though the one serving of it probably won't do much.
I haven't restricted myself, so I guess I have no special answer :-/
(FWIW, I don't eat meat unless it's fully cooked, I don't drink alcohol or eat seafood, and I eat deli meat and drink caffeine while pregnant)
I can not WAIT for a loaded (stuffed like mad) Italian hoagie with all the fixings and a glass of wine. White or red, I really don't care. DH said he would bring the hoagie to the hospital. I am pretty sure he'll be sneaking in a bottle of the wine, too.
Once we get home, I want a huge salad loaded with ranch dressing. (I have had the salad during pregnancy, but not the ranch dressing.)
And I want some feta cheese - somewhere, somehow. LOL.
