I'm sure most of you have been there... the cough your DC just can't get over which keeps him/her out of daycare for more days than you'd like.
What can I do? I feel like I've tried everything and I just can't get him to cough up the stuff lurking in his chest. We've tried humidifiers, steamy bathrooms, saline drops, Vicks babyrun (just tried today), a couple of natural remedies... help!
Re: recc. your cough/cold remedy for under age 1
honestly it's all you can do until they are much older. my pedi only JUST let us start using 'real' medications on my DD.
I still send my DD with a cough to daycare as long as she is not having a fever, etc.
Once they turn 1 a teaspoon of honey works the best of anything I've tried, but NOT for under 1.
He only has a cough and got rejected at daycare today!! I mean, I don't want him to infect the littler babies, but it's just so frustrating because it's already been a week since he got sick. The fever is gone, but they said he sounded too bad.
Are you nursing or FF your baby? Iw as doing a blend for my baby until she was 1. I used a homeopathic suggestion from a friend. It sounds goofy but it works and it doesn't hurt them at all. MY DD had a lingering cough for MONTHS and <poof> it cleared up within 3 days when I did this.
Don't give her any dairy. None. I used non-dairy formula and took out dairy from my diet so she wouldn't get any thru me. It only took me a week. It was hard but it completely worked.
Good luck!
