When will it stop!?!

Hi everyone!

I am due May 23rd with my first child. I am very excited, although it is becoming very hard to be excited when I feel the way I do. I have had a horrible nausea feeling for a week now. At first I thought I could just deal with it..but it is now interfering with work/life in general. I can't seem to concentrate at work because of this feeling, and my hour long commute is becoming unbearable.  The doctor told me there is something he can give me that may help, but I am trying to stay away from any extra medicines that isn't mandatory. Any idea on how long I can expect this to go on??

  • It varies person to person. Some people finish by 10 weeks, some people keep it their whole pregnancy. You can try seabands, some have had good luck with that here. My friend just recommended preggie pops to me, but I have no idea what's in them (they're "natural" but so is pot so that's not enough of an assurance for me).

  • I'm on about week 3 of nausea right now and if you feel that horrible, give the meds a try.  Zofran didn't do anything for me, but everyone is different.  Working is hard when feeling so cruddy.  Peppermint lifesavers have worked well to help with my queasy stomach, but everyday is different for me.

    Good luck!

  • I was sick from week 2 until the very end of my 8th week (sunday) ......I wish you luck! I TOTALLY empathize. I hated it! Now its amazing...... Hope yours comes just as fast.

  • I tried to stay away from everything but getting into week 7 I got very sick.  The nausea started to interfere with my work so I broke down and took something.  It was amazing to feel decent for a while.  I just take my Zofran for nausea and Tylenol for headaches when I need it and I feel better.

  • I have had ms since the day I found out at 3w 5d and have tried everything.  The things that have worked for me are the seabands (I live in them), gingerale, and toast with peanut butter first thing in the morning.  For some reason the PB seems to work ...just an idea.  I have also found if I eat a little all day and not let my stomach get empty the nausea is not as bad.   Good luck to you!
