Lunch- eating out, what to do?

Hi Ladies,

I am usually in a rush and forget to make lunch for the next day. So i end up eating out at lunch at work. Around me there is panera, sushi, quedoba mexican grill, and some sandwich places.  I get sick of eating the same stuff everyday but i wanted to see if anyone had any healthy/safe suggestions. I love sushi so much (I only get california rolls now) and want that every day with some Ginger dressing!! but i know i have to switch it up. What do u guys get when ure eating lunch out?

Thanks!

  • I love panera. I get either a ceasar salad or Greek salad and broccoli and cheese soup. I could seriously eat that everyday. Today I got a sandwich from an amazing deli. It really depends on what I'm in the mood for. Thanks to you, I'm now craving a califonia roll and I can't wait to have seared tuna after this LO is born.

  • I LOVE california rolls and i cant stay away from ginger dressing. I hope thats not bad?

I heard that you cant have ceaser salad because of the dressing? is that true? What do you usually get on ur sandwich?

  • You can have ceasar dressing.  Traditionally, ceasar dressing was made with raw eggs....some restaurants still make it this way, but its very rare.  Most just get their dressing from a bottle- like the kind you'd find in a grocery store.  This does not contain anything harmful to you.

It is suggested to stay away from Caesar dressing because it contains raw eggs.  I am not saying to eat it or avoid it, just informing you as to why you may have heard you can't have it when pg.  Same with raw cookie dough.

  • At Panera I do the 1/2 and 1/2 and get the Turkey Sierra and Mac and Cheese.

At Qdoba I always get a pulled pork quesadilla combo. Anything with the pulled pork is delicious.

At most sandwich places you can make up what kind of meat/cheeses you want and don't have to go with what's on the board. To switch it up more, if they have a grill or a press, have it done that way. Sometimes it's tastier than a plain ol' cold sub.

Don't fret over dressings much. From a PP the concern with caesar dressing is if it's homemade with raw egg. Most places uses packs of dressing and jugs of dressing and it isn't made with raw egg.

If you do do some raw fish sushi, just avoid tuna because of high mercury levels.

    Everything in moderation.
