Newborn Stash.....caving & buying prefolds

As much as I didn't want to buy prefolds for pure convenience on my part, after coming to the conclusion LO will be in daycare that accepts AIO's I'm going to have to cave and buy prefolds.

What I have so far:

8 kl0s

10 BG Xsmall

 8 Lil Joeys

1 Grovia AIO Newborn

1 Thirsties Duo Fab Fitted

2 Thirsties xsmall covers

2 Wee Huggers size 1 covers

2 Bummis size 1 covers

 

My friend suggested adding 2 dozen GMD newborn prefolds and I should be good on doing laundry every other day or every two, but I believe the daycare I'm using will only accept AIO's or pockets but if they accept prefolds then that will be even better. 

What are your thoughts?

*ETA: I am probably going to add 4 more kl0's and 2 more newborn size covers because I am being induced 2 weeks early.

    How long do you plan on being on maternity leave?  If you don't plan on going back for 8-10 weeks, you'd probably be safe in ordering only a dozen to what you already have and the more kl0s and newborn covers you plan on buying.  By then baby will most likely fit into the AIOs you are using for daycare.

    I get six weeks leave and I'm being induced 2 weeks early so I'm afraid he'll be small and won't fit into the bigger AIO's I have for awhile (I didn't include those on the list). I really just don't want to have to do laundry every single day once he starts daycare, that is why I was thinking of 2 dozen prefolds so the AIO's will last a little longer on the laundry front lol

    In addition to what I listed I also have:

    18 BG size small

    4 Rumparooz OS

    2 Blueberry OS

    1 BG OS

    3 Kissa OS

    I agree with PP. I think you will be just fine with only a dozen prefolds. That will give you 40 diapers including the ones you've already purchased for the newborn stage. Even if only 24 of those fit at a given point, it should allow you to do laundry every other day.

    as a note, prefolds are not that bad.  I kinda enjoyed using them, I just thought about all the mothers throughout history who used this type of cloth diaper and I felt "connected"  goofy i know but hey,  Don't forget to buy a snappy

    Thanks for all of the advice ladies. I think I might go with a dozen newborn and a dozen small until I can build my stash for when he's bigger and to not have to do laundry every other day, although if his daycare only accepts pockets and AIO's I might just have to lol

    Prefolds were always bulletproof for me in the beginning stages, when the AIOs I had constantly leaked.  And they are really nice as inserts later on.  I love prefolds.

    Just wanted to weigh in with my opinion too!  I 2nd everyone who said you should be good to go with a dozen PFs. I have been totally suprised as I also love our PFs  - I have a selection from Cottonbabies, OzoCozy & Diaper Rites.  I use them as our day to day, at home diapers & find I am only reaching for our AIOs when we go out anywhere, mainly for handiness sake!  However as I get more PF proficient I am starting to take them for going out too!
