lower back pain anyone?

Hey ladies. I havent officially came out yet, but I felt like i needed to see if anyone else has this.  I am about 5 weeks, 5 days along and this morning i woke up to lower back pain. Its gotten a little better since the day has gone on, but some of the pain is def. still here.

Anyone else get this this early?

Re: lower back pain anyone?

  • yes- I think part of it has to do with my poor sleeping. I have been unable to sleep through the night comfortably. Lots of tossing and turning!

  • I had low back pain very early on too. It's gone now.

  • Yes. It hurt to stand up at the sink to wash the dishes the other night and I've been having some today as well. Not bad, just very uncomfortable.
  • Yup am 7 weeks have had it for awhile--its due to the hormone relaxin, relaxing your ligaments for upcoming growing belly--in my last pregnancy I had it for 9 months! Doing the cat stretch works wonders start now!!
  • Yep. Had it for most of last preg. Already have it this time.  DH is good about giving me back rubs.
  • I have always had some problem with lower back pain.  And unfortunately I continue to have it, in fact for the last few days, it has been constantly aching.  I think it doesn't help that I can't take anything but Tylenol for it.

I hope that it goes away soon for you, take some tylenol, and maybe a bath (or a heating pad) those tend to help me.  GL

  • As soon as you get pregnant, the hormone relaxin starts to kick in. It's what lets everything loosen up for childbirth, but it also affects the main joint in your pelvis. I've had this through all 3 pregnancies, and it only gets worse as I get bigger. Good luck!
  • Thanks girls. I am not happy anyone of you experienced this, but glad to know it seems to be a normal thing.

    :-)

  • I'm already having it too and pain in my hips!  Hope all of us get some relief!
  • Yes, I have experienced this already!  Last pregnancy I'd have pain for a day or a few days....then I'd be ok for weeks.  And then it'd all start up again!

  • Yes! I was told that it could be my uterus growing.. I was hoping that I could just lay down with a heating pad until they told me that I couldn't use heating pads.. I just try to lay down with my feet up.
  • I felt a sharp pain in the small of my back this morning. Then all day the area around my left & right ovaries hurt. Finally my lower back ached while I cooked dinner. It's truly amazing how a woman's body adapts to support the new life growing within her.
  • Yes!  By my best guestimations I'm around 6 weeks...my back has been hurting for a week now.  Sitting at work kills me.  I thought I was too early to experience this, but I'm glad it seems normal.  Whew.  One less thing to worry about (for now).
