Liam Christopher... born today, in need of prayers.

My son, Liam Christopher, was born today after an unexpected and rather quick turn of events. I had high blood pressure and was sent to Labor and Delivery. My son's heart beat started falling. My blood pressure was 211/124 and Liam's heart beat was "faltering" one or twice every hours. After a c-section scare and a night of no sleep, we were sent to deliver him at 26 weeks. He is now upstairs in the neonatal unit. I have never seen anything so small. I want to hold him so much. Getting ready to go to sleep and start a whole new day tomorrow. Please pray for my son. I don't even know what questions I need to be asking his caretakers, what to expect, or anything really. This was quite unexpected and my DH and I are quite terrified. Thanks for "listening".

The thing to remember is that the risks you're facing now are far lower than they were when there was a risk of losing both of you. Just take time to heal and spend as much time upstairs with your LO as they will let you. Talk to your LO and even if you can't hold him if they allow you to touch your LO remember that it has been shown to help their growth rates improve. Trust your instincts!!
