Before becoming pregnant I never had this feeling, however for the past month I have been experiencing restless leg syndrome. Anyone else? I read in my What to Expect When Expecting book and it says its not uncommon. As if I couldn't already get comfortable, now I can get my stupid legs from keeping me up!
UGH!
Re: Restless Leg Syndrome
Yes,
I have been getting RLS as well. I try stretching at night before going to bed and kind of message my calfs and that usually helps. I thought it was just me, just about everything I read mentioned leg cramps, but I didn't see anything that actually mentioned RLS during pregnancy. I don't rememeber getting it when I was pregnant with DD.
My dr. suggested resting my legs while propped up for a half hour before bed and taking a tylenol PM (she said 2 was okay). It really helped alot! I got used to it and was able to stop taking the tylenol everynight. Its been so helpful and its safe not too many safe alternatives for anything.... mention the pain to your dr. at your next appointment or call them. Make sure not to make the assumption of RLS but to describe the pain and discomfort in detail so they can rule out any other possible causes. Good luck! I hope something works for you... took me 4 weeks before i found anything.
