At least five hours. I had a reaction to the spinal and was shaking after I was wheeled into my room. I was also uncontrollably chattering my teeth, too. That was the only negative experience from the c-section. I didn't anticipate that at all.

Within minutes of her being born and them cleaning her up, I got to hold her. More so, my DH held her with me to ensure I had a steady grasp. I got to kiss her and take pics. Then about 30 mins from that point, they wheeled me into recovery and brought her to me. From there, I started nursing her and we were together.
I got to hold DS about 25 minutes after he was born. DH held him until I was closed up, and then I was allowed to hold him when I was wheeled to recovery, and I got to hold him for about 20 minutes, then DH fed him, he got his first bath and I got him back for about 2 hours before he went to the nursery for the night (had a c-section at night).
I think it was about 2-2.5 hours until I got to hold him. But I was under GA, and didn't make it back to my room until almost 2 hours after he was born. But it was probably a half hour or so after I got back to the room that I first got to see him and hold him.

Maybe like 30 minutes. They gave him to me in the recovery room and had a lactation consultant help with the first feeding (which went great). After delivery my husband was with the baby the whole time.
I think it was about an hour... They were going to let me hold him in recovery, but I physically couldn't. I was having awful pains in my shoulders and I couldn't really move my arms due to all of the medications. It was weird it was kinda like being paralyzed temporarily. The first time I held him I was in our room and I cried like a baby. But DH held him the whole time we were in recovery and it was beautiful! I was a little jealous though

The policy at my Woman's Hospital is mom is the only one who can hold baby while being wheeled back to the delivery/recovery room (if all is well with the baby) and same for when we left the recovery room to the actual room. H tried to carry her and they would not allow it. But I think all places are different.
Ditto this. Again, you can't really judge time well but I'm guessing from when born until wheeling me out of OR was maybe 30 min? Less? It seemed both long and short.
It was 2 hour with DS, (emergency, and not allowed to hold him in recovery) and 40 minutes with DD (Planned, her and DH were waiting for me in the recovery room!)

Um, 20 minutes maybe? As soon as I was done being sewn up, I was handed the baby. I started shaking badly about 15 minutes after that, so he was passed off to my husband. I would say it was about 2 hours before I was in recovery, in my bed, not shaking, and breasfeeding.
As soon as I was in the recovery room - less than a half hour. My son was with the nurses and my husband in the meantime. I nursed him as soon as I held him, no problem.

DS was born at 8:28 pm, I held him at 11:45 ish, so 3 hours 15 minutes.
Tomorrow I have a scheduled c for LO2 and one of my BIG requests is to hold him in recovery.
