What is your 10 month old eating?

My DS is 10 months old.  When we give him baby food (Stage 3) he spits it out.  I used to think it was a game with him, but now I am thinking he doesn't like it anymore.  We give him Gerber Puffs and Cheerios and he eats them.  He still has no teeth so I am afraid to give him other hard things.  Other than baby food, what does your 10 month old eat?

  • Steamed veggies, pasta, pancakes, toast, crackers, shredded chicken. Babies don't need teeth to chew. Just give foods that mush up easily.

  • Both my boys were fully on table food by 10 months- they ate pretty much everything we ate cut up small. Sweet potatoes they loved, cheese, avocado, fruits cut up, cheerios are things that jump to mind.  They were really good eaters though.

  • Both of my kids were on table food by the end of their 10th month.

This was DS food list at 11-12 months (can't believe I still have it!)

Breads: waffles, pancakes, 12 grain bread, fruit & grain bars, multigrain baguette, whole wheat pita

Fruits: blueberries, strawberries, melon of all kinds, peaches, pears, pineapple, banana, papaya, mango, apples, grapes, kiwi

Veggies: peas, carrots, green beans, corn, asparagus, edamame, beans, veggie sausages, potato, sweet potato, butternut squash

Dairy: yogurt, cream cheese, cottage cheese, cheddar, brie, provolone, mozzarella, gorgonzola, gouda (reg and smoked), scrambled (whole) eggs

Meats: chicken (diced), turkey, beef from stews, kielbasa, chicken & apple (or mango) sausage, turkey bacon (the meaty stuff from the Amish market)

Seafood: rockfish, salmon (baked or smoked), calamari

As for actual cooked items, he eats pretty much whatever we do. He loves PB&J sandwiches, grilled cheese, lasagna, chicken & dumplings, beef stroganoff, pot pies, etc.

  • DD2 is a bit delayed, so we're still doing stage 2 foods. I gave her a little tiny, tiny, tiny piece of bread the other day and she promptly started to gag and then vomit. I guess I'm going to wait a little bit longer.

This! Teagan never ate baby food, we have given her anything and everything we eat since she was 6 months old.

We did BLW too, so DD2 never had purees. We started with softer foods, but DD pretty much ate/eats whatever we do.

  • You all are awesome!  I think I am a bit rusty with baby stuff.  Thank you for the great information!
