i think it's less scary to believe there is a link than to believe you can do everything right and still have your kid show signs of autism.
why is that less dumb? that reminds me of the people who think global warming is a massive hoax perpetrated by climate scientists.

As this doctor says, it really hurts her feelings and she takes it personally when parents refuse vaccinations for their children.

She really should just stick to porn. She has probably done more damage to people wanting to get vaccinated than any other celebrity. I have an old highschool friend whose kid is autistic and he still gets his shots when they are due. My MIL thinks that vaccinations are the reason for the outbreaks of pertussis and measles recently, instead of the common sense that those outbreaks are caused by kids not getting their shots and passing the disease on to those too young to get them.

They do not care if you are prego. I drove a bus until 1 week before she was born. I even chased my bus down the street while pregnant after I forgot to put the airbrake on, hahahahaha.
I don't know who has been bribed to say what or not what. But I do believe each of us have our own mind and we should all be allowed access to this research stuff (we may be, I have not looked) so we can read it for ourselves and make our own decision.
I listen here and there. I even threw around not vaccinating my last kid, but my BFF pedi said she would divorce me if I did that.
I think stuff is sensationalized to no end, blown out of proportion, made up, twisted into what they want us to think, etc. Government scare tactics to keep us all in line to a degree.

As for the rest, hey I was born and raised in California. My dad hates authoriTAY, challenges media and taught me to question everything. Then I watched "V" and it all just made more sense.
So no I don't lay down and go with the flow. Is that really SUCH a bad thing? Come on.
So, for people who think thiomersal is the cause of the autism, is it the mercury that's in it? If so, how do they explain the difference in the mercury that is in thiomersal (ethyl mercury, non-accumulating in the body) and methyl mercury--the "bad" mercury?
No that is not why I thought about not vaccinating my kid.
I don't agree with how many shots there are that is part of why I said that. I also like to challenge why exactly we need all of these shots, I gave the pedi a run for her money. Sometimes it is good to get some of the things they vaccinate against. SOME.
ETA- If there is a shot for everything I think it would be bad for the human race. We cannot "fix" everything, we aren't meant to.

Dude, I researched that stuff when he was little. It was a long time ago, I am not even going to pretend that I remember what I read then.
My brain is chalk full of work drama and that has pushed my memory to brink. I just can't retain all that stuff anymore, sorry I cannot argue better with you about it or I would.
My chem teacher was informing us of how the Himalayan mountains produce more CO2 then our cars ever could so obviously global warming is a hoax.

She just posted a new article about studies. I didn't look at it. Honestly, I am also speaking based off of what I read 2 years ago, I know shiz has changed since then.
I also got on the train and vaccinated the kid because I ended up believing it was the right thing to do. I did deny some vaccines for my older one, but for different reasons than autism.
I am done having babies and mine are all vaccinated now not to mention stuff changes almost daily in regards to research.
Gah, I totally believe in global warming.
BTW- I hope all of you are recycling. I also am pissed that here in the woods we do not have appropriate recycling facilities.

I agree some save millions of lives but I don't agree with there being so many of them.
Have they ever said oh we haven't seen "x" in "x" years, we can remove this vaccine because it is "dormant" or whatever they would call it.
It all seems like they just add new ones, never delete old ones.
Our favorite ER doctor was concerned Izzy could have possibly had measles but he mentioned that he hadn't seen a case in 15 years so it was highly unlikely. He said that heard immunity kept it away. BECAUSE PEOPLE CONTINUE TO BE VACCINATED FOR IT. It's just like the pertussis outbreak, people stopped vaccinating for it and it came back. It's continued for a reason.

Some people claimed that. Thiomersal can be harmful, but no one knew the effects it could have being in vaccines. A large group claimed (claimed being the operative word here) that it was the cause of autism. It was removed only as a safety precaution. (and probably because at the time there was a perceived rise in autism-not to mention all of these parents causing a huge stink about unnecessary things being injected into their children. Plus they were starting to sue the federal government for damages; stating that vaccines caused their children to have autism. Some of them won their lawsuits.)
Again, I don't believe any of that. However, I am glad that the CDC and the APA took another look at vaccines and tried their best to make them safer. Whether they actually did or not, I don't know.
I skipped guardasil for my older daughter and will for my son. They can make that decision themselves.
I wanted to skip one for my son because one of the vaccines has a obsolete "viral disease/disease" in it, but they made it into a combined vaccine so I couldn't get it excluded.
