Issues with Cats

Hey Ladies! I have a cat that we love dearly and we have had her for over a year now. I am still early in my pregnancy but she makes me nervous because she gets into EVERYTHING and I am worried that when the baby comes she will try to get into where ever the baby is. Does anyone else have this issue? Do you have any suggestions? I dont want to have to get rid of her but if it comes down to the safety of the baby obviously she's will have to go.

Thanks!

Re: Issues with Cats

  • We have two cats. One couldn't care less about the baby, but the other one is so nosy and constantly wants to get into the baby's things (bouncy seat, car seat, stroller, pack n' play, etc.) He has not gotten into these things when the baby has actually been in them, but I'm not taking any chances!

Whenever the baby is sleeping, I always close off the room from the cat. Also, at night when we are sleeping, we put both the cats down in our basement with the door closed. So far, that has worked great for us.

  • We have two cats as well. One sleeps all night and day and could care less about A.
The other gets into EVERYTHING but has never once tried to get in to where A is. I think A sort of freaks him out.

    Good luck.

  • Another two cat family here. We've never had any issues. I got so tired of people saying "You are going to have to watch the cats like a hawk when K gets here, they will be all over her and in her stuff." One doesn't give a rat's a** about anything but himself. So if it doesn't benefit him he ignores it. He's sniffed K once and that was about it. The other one is just nosy, so she's sniffed everything, but never tried to get in it or really near her other than to sniff her.
