  It means you're nursing efficiently. If you're allowing yourself to become engorged before you nurse, then your production will lessen in the long run. Full breasts dont produce until they're emptied...and if you're only emptying out half way, your body only produces enough to refill them. If you continue this pattern, then your milk production will slow to a crawl and you'll have to work to increase it again. Empty breasts produce more milk because it takes more to refill them. So empty those puppies out!

  what PP said--it's probably properly extablished.

  You quit being engorged and they go from 'full' to empty w/o that.

  Totally normal. You supply is beginning to regulate to LO's demand. Once you get past 6 weeks or so, you probably won't ever feel engorged. My breasts don't even really get that full feeling anymore, even first thing in the morning but DS still nurses like a champ.

  It's just the normal process of your supply regulating.  My friend just weaned her daughter at 8 months and has enough milk in the freezer to feed her until she's a year and she never once felt engorged or full.
