TMI Hemorrhoids and delivery

So I have a third degree (sticks out while going t bathroom and needs to be pushed back in with fingers, i know it seems gross) internal hemorrhoid (have had before pregnancy) and am a little worried and more embarrassed about it. Question, Obviously it is gonna be sticking out there during delivery but if I have an epidural will they stuff (sorry to be so gross) it back in for me? Please anyone out there deal with this...sorry for TMI.

  • Honestly, I would ask if there was some way they could be fixed while you have the epidural. If they don't know how to tie them off or whatever needs to be done maybe they can get a GI there to do it while you are numb. It may be a long shot but it sounds better than having them numbed later individually.

  • Owie! You poor thing. I got hemorrhoids from giving birth to DD. They didn't even mention them - I had to discover that myself. I'm thinking that they won't mention it to you unless it looks serious, then they'll talk over lancing it with you. If all else fails, be very forward about it. Talk to the doctor about it - he/she has seen everything and a hemorrhoid or two or ten is nothing new!

  • Mine did not touch it.  I got one after pushing out my first child.  It came back at the end of my second pregnancy and was all showing during his delivery.  Good news is that it was gone after two weeks postpartum.  Gross I know.
