Estelle for a girl, WDYT?

I really like the name Estelle Ann for a girl, but am worried it's too old fashioned. Ann is my mom's middle name, so that's a sticking point, and Estelle is my great-grandmother's name, who raised my dad.

Is it too old? I figured we would call her Stell or El for nicknames. WDYT?

Personally I cringe at Estelle, Stella and Adele but not because they are too old-fashioned. I like older names. These ones just bother me, I don't know why.

There's nothing wrong with Estelle though, I just don't like it.

I like it. Old lady, yes, but I like that. Stella has gotten super popular in the last few years, though, so be aware of that.

LOL this is exactly what happens IRL when I ask people. Half like it, half hate it. My other choice would be Audrey Ann, but I feel like Audrey is getting very popular.

What do you think? I really don't have anyone to bounce this off, as my STBXH has removed himself from all things adult. I appreciate your help!

Estelle is NMS, but it's not bad I really don't like the combo of Estelle Ann. When you say the names together, it just doesn't flow - it's either all mashed up as one name or has a hard stop between them. Just my preference.

Audrey is a much nicer name IMO.

I want to like it a lot as I'm a big fan of "old lady" names, but I'm on the fence about this one. I don't hate it though. I can say that I don't like it with the middle name Ann - too many vowel sounds.

I love the name Audrey (mentioned in a later post) though! But, again, I'm not that crazy about it paired with your middle name choice - I don't like the way it looks or sounds.

I love "Old Lady" names, so I adore Estelle. Its on our list for a middle name. I do agree that Estelle Ann doesn't quite work. Estella Ann works better IMO.
